Midfielder Ale Faurlin pens new contract 28-year-old reveals delight at new deal Les Ferdinand believes Argentine can big 'big asset' ALEJANDRO Faurlin has agreed a new deal at Loftus Road. The 28-year-old Argentine midfielder has put pen to paper on a one year contact, with the option of a further year. Faurlin, who initially joined QPR in July 2009, missed the majority of last season owing to a third ACL injury in as many years, but having fought back to fitness in the latter stages of the campaign, he’s now relishing the chance to prove his worth once again after signing a new deal. “I'm extremely happy,” Faurlin told www.qpr.co.uk. “I have to say thank you to everyone at the club for keeping me here and giving me the chance to prove a lot of people wrong. I just want to play football. “I contemplated giving up after my last injury. It was really tough and I was in a dark place. Thankfully, I’m still here. “All you can do is give your best to come back. The support from everyone in and around the club has been massive. I am eternally grateful for that. “I have trained with the lads for three to four months now. I feel confident. I’m ready to go again. image: http://www.qpr.co.uk/cms_images/player/ale-faurlin-wolves-qpr-61364-1711545.jpg please log in to view this image ARGENTINE ACE: Faurlin is relishing the start to the new season “I can't wait to play in front of the QPR fans. I feel part of the family, I have done for six years. “I'm sure next season is going to be a good one. I love this place.” QPR’s Director of Football, Les Ferdinand, added: “Everyone knows what Ale means to QPR and what QPR means to Ale, but there was no sentiment involved here. “The way he fought back from his injury last season is all credit to him and he showed on the training ground during the final few weeks of last season what a talented player he is. “If he can stay fit, which we really hope he can, he will be a big asset for us in the coming season. “We're delighted he’s agreed a new deal with the club. Top lad and decent footballer plagued with horrific injuries. If only we had a few more with his attitude in the Prem it would be a different story. Lets hope he lasts because if things go wrong again I'm afraid that will be the end of his career. Well done Ali!
I have said this many times on this forum. Just hope he can regain his fitness and stay injury free, another ligament problem will be the finish of him that's for sure.
I know he's potentially a bad tackle away from being injured again, but I'm delighted at this. I'd also think seriously about making him captain.
Deluded , how is or was at any time the best player ? He is not better than fer , Austin to name a few , he is made of glass and one big tackle away from a year out , woooop woooop great stuff re-signing We should be moving on starting fresh
Ale Faurlin was certainly a better player than Fer will ever be. He can't shoot as well as Fer but he is a far better passer & tacklet. Added to this he works for every minute of every game, putting the team first. Tell me when Fer has ever done that? Fer will NEVER be rated as the best midfield player in the Premier League. Ale was prior to the match at MK Dons.
All based on the Optra index that all the clubs use for their statistics. At the time of his injury he was in the number one position. I never said he was the best player in the Premier, just that he was rated as the best midfield player at that time.
I'm not convinced he would have been top, we had only played two games and lost them both! He might have been top for us but not for the whole Prem!
