Oh, come on, give 'em a chance! The Spammers haven't even played there yet!

They'll get around to it, I'm sure.

  5. Yes, it is a disgrace that the Spanners, backed by the spunk-stained cash of their porn-king owners, have been gifted a new stadium that they cannot afford, and I am as outraged as the next man.

However, much hilarity will come from this, my friends. Every other week, on MOTD, we will have the likes of Lineaker, Hansen and Shearer ripping the piss out of the Spanners and the acres of empty space ringing around their ears, as they desperately try to create any kind of atmosphere! And when the Spanners, inevitably, get relegated, that ground will become a large, empty, echoey jinx to them.

The local council will be begging Levy to come in and bail them out, and I'm sure he will take great pleasure in telling them to shove it!

West ham reckon they will get no more than 40000 in. So nowhere near capacity.

Depends. Against the big sides they'll get 50-60000 if there's an away end of 8-10000. Against Watford and Bournemouth they'll struggle to get 35000 but will probably have half of East London there on freebies.

Barry Hearn's kicking off about it, again: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33239549
He clearly has a point. The taxpayer funded this, yet we're being told that all details of the deal are confidential.
West Ham should clearly be shut down. It's only right.

  9. When their porn empire collapses and the club goes into Administration, the ground will be given back to the public. Demolish the ground and turn it into a public park, with somewhere for the kids to play.

  11. Tricky, I always meant to ask you something...

Your match-day program - does the cover have a young lovely bent over pulling her arse-cheeks apart, like my old Razzle jazz mags? And, also, does it contain a Readers' Wives section?

    No mate.

Can someone explain to me why West Ham should pay any more for the stadium than the reported figures?

We are paying £15M up front and then £2M a year for the next 99 years. My calculations tell me that's £213M.

Sounds reasonable for a company that's only gonna be using it between 19 & 30 days per year I think.

I could be wrong but I'm sure I read somewhere that the spuds have received taxpayers money to help them build their new stadium <whistle>

  15. Is it some kind of urban regeneration grant?

It's not unusual for large-scale urban developments to get such grants. In the long run, the local communities earn out of it, far out-stripping the value of the original grant.

So, I am afraid that that is, yet another, wum-fail, my uninformed Gooner friend.

Does that mean Tottenham have or have not received tax payers money ?

    #36
  17. No, it means the community is sharing in the regeneration that is being paid for by Spurs.

So the spuds are getting no taxpayers money then

  19. If there is grant funding being made available, it doesn't go to the club, it goes into the development.

The spuds are getting taxpayers money, so they can have **** all to moan about regarding West Ham.

If their dirty tactics had paid off over the OS then they would be benefiting from the same money that they are now whinging about.

    Hypocrites
