    They can get a bit weepy at times apparently. Can't understand why we are discussing this though when the amazing news is that somebody thinks Sammy might be worth a punt. Has he not signed his new contract because I cant believe they are going to pay real money for him.

    If it goes to appeal its not normally a very significant upfront payment (1/2 a million or so) and then significant add-ons depending on the number of games played which might double or triple that amount. We might get a bit more because he made a lot of first team appearances last year. There is normally also 20% of any sell-on fee but its enough expecting one club to take him, finding two that could be that stupid is asking too much!
