Hopefully after our signings are done, if Morgan hasn't had an offer come in for him then I think he'd be happy to stay for another season. We could really push on if we keep hold of him & Toby.

What if that new CF doesn't score, then we not another one. And what if than one doesn't score either, then we need another one. What if...

The bedwetting championship still has some weeks to run, but we've got a favourite already! <laugh>

I actually met a lifelong Bristol Rovers fan the other day. He and other rovers fans still go on about Sir Rickie as much as we do. He said he was an all round top guy and so happy for him and everything he has achieved. Rather like us really.

We didn't score a massive amount of goals all season except for some notable exceptions - Sunderland, Newcastle and Aston Villa. It was our defensive record which was so impressive..
Unfortunately we started conceding a lot more due to injuries so the pressure to score more goals was more telling.

But even when we weren't conceding, the lack of goals became a problem. We had 5 goals in 9 matches at one point, failing to get on the scoresheet in more than half those games...hard to win much that way.

Hey Beefy, how far off the first team is Jason McCarthy these days? Is he likely to get game time if Clyne does stay?

I will admit I have not seen enough of him to know if he could handle say 15 matches up front on his own in a side potentially battling for top 6ish finish and Europe progression. Maybe he can

For the record I was referring to Gallagher not Jason McCarthy

Yeah, sussed that Bill. I was replying to Tom re his reply to my post. It's tricky with these threads though, cos people respond to different parts at the same time and it can get confusing for the unwary.

Bevis Mugabi is a bit of a prospect at RB too.

Saints see him as a cb so a few seasons yet. We have a few I that are on the fringes:

    Wood
    Gape
    Seager
    Hesketh

I could see a few of the above getting the odd game.

    McCarthy
    Sims
    Gallagher
    Mugabi
    Debayo
    Stephens

    I rate highly as well.

I still think there is at least one or two good seasons to come from Sir Rickie. IMO he would be the ideal backup for pelle. Doesn't need to play 90 each week and can keep goals ticking along whilst we see how good Gallagher and seager are. Liverpool want rid I think so I reckon it's time for the Return of the King...

Not going to happen. Besides, why block the path for the likes of Seager and Gallagher with someone who's past his best?
