HA'WAY THE DADS ! Hope you all get spoilt rotten. And for those of you who are treating your dads, bear in mind all the hard work he put in to make you. All those dates with your mam, all those flowers and chocolates, all that romance. And in the end, all that 30 seconds in the bedroom that night ! ....Let's hear it for the Dads !!!
"If your terrible decision making extends to Fathers day you'll have got him a Mothers day card then eh?"
Unfortunately my dad passed away very unexpectedly 4 weeks today. He was 59 fit as a fiddle, did not drink or smoke but died in the gym from a heart attack. He had a heart condition he did not even know he had. I was there at the very end with my mum but there was nothing that could be done to revive him. I am sure long time posters know my dad was a mag and so having his eldest son as a Mackem made for some interesting debates especially on derby days. Anyway I was lucky, I spent a lot of time with my dad, he came to Sunderland with me a few times and I took him to see the mags on his birthday. There was nothing unsaid between us and we were best mates as well as father and son. So spend time with your dad or your son. Make every second count, enjoy every moment and don't leave anything unsaid. I saw him 2 hours before he died just as the mags made it to safety, we had a little joke about that and I saw him smile, that's my last real memory and I will never forget it.
Totally gutted for you Vegas. My sincere condolences. Sounds like you and your dad were great mates and that will leave cherished memories in the coming months and years. Memories to pass on to your own. hope you doing okay mate. Best wishes. B
