All the best Stan, and to your family, I know taking care of a loved one with this is as tough as it can get. I've heard and hope medical treatment is a lot better now than it was. Stan is still the greatest player I had the priveledge of watching many times.
He asked my mother in law out in the 60s (they were at school together) and up until recently drank regularly in the same pub as my father in law. A great character, daft as a brush, who only really performed in a QPR shirt - but did so to great effect in the mid 70s. A great goalscoring record from an attacking midfield role and the main reason QPR were contenders for the title (can you believe that?). Sad news indeed.
Sad news indeed. My all time QPR hero and one of the biggest reasons why i started to follow and support our beloved club. Alzheimer is extremely difficult disea to both the person who has it and his family.
Igor, you're right, its the family that suffer not the person with Alzheimers. Both my mother and my wife's mother have it and they are not even aware their is a problem most of the time. People should feel sorry for the family who suffer from this disease>
All the best to Stan - one of my favourites that I grew up with - what a bargain he was from Carlisle. Hopefully with the assistance of modern drugs he will be able to manage this debilitating disease.
My thoughts and prayers are with Stan and his family, he was a massive part of my childhood and I thank him from the bottom of my heart for the memories he's left me with.
Keep going Stan Lit up my life and love for the Rangers All the very best to one of the greatest players this country has seen Played the game the right way
I have to echo all your posts, a truly great player and R's legend, used to bump into Stan at White City dog track in the 70's. I pray to God that he doesn't suffer like my sons wife's mother did, a really nasty illness xxx
Terrible news, best wishes to Stan and his family. Growing up during the 70's I was lucky to witness the rise of our greatest ever team, and the start of that team was Stan the Man. The best Al round player to pull on the hoops. I feel privileged to have seen him play, and what a lovely guy he has been with the fans, always happy to have a photo taken and talk. The club should provide any help and support it can to Stan and his family.
As all the previous comments state...a legend and a gent. He is one of the reasons i became an R's fan. Best wishes to Stan and his family.
I hope you all don't mind me posting this here. A reminder of why we all love Stan and Rangers so much! Stay strong Stan, were all thinking of you.
Brilliance at its best , a superb ball player with great vision and skill. Simply for me ,the best ever i have seen. Thoughts with Stan and his family
Terrible news. I remember going to his testimonial at Brentford v QPR and running on the pitch before the start of the game to shake his hand and to say thanks from all the QPR fans and done the same to Rodney. Wish Stan and all the family the best.
