Celtic Monarch 13/2 - Hexham 2:30 Had been running in some decent contests in Ireland before being brought to Hexham to win over 2 mile at this track last time out, where he looked rejuvenated, winning by an easy 6 lengths. Into a class 4 selling hurdle today and back up in trip I feel he again can run well at a track where it is a huge positive to have winning form at. He will like the good to firm that is forecast and at 13/2 is a solid bet for me.
VULCANITE 14-1 Worcester 5:20 Races today off 137 having won the race last year off 145. Has to carry a slight warning as the race looks tougher this year and VULCANITE came here off the back of two wins but connections know how to have one ready on the day that it is required and on his day this boy simply oozes class.
Backed Oousthizen in play earlier at 80/1 so hoping to see these leading boys have some below par rounds to keep the gap minimal going into the tense final round. Spieth the rightful favourite though- some very good putting. Fancy Lewis Hamilton to get beat in Austria tomorrow but not sure if it will be by Rosberg or Vettel, who has been rock solid in practice.
We have a golf thread on General Betting Board TC if ya want to join in the chat...or my running commentary I also backed Shrek before he teed off today after my Bubba and Phil bets went South!
Well I finally have the energy to look at some of the cards tomorrow , my intake of coffee this week has quadrupled!! two for me tomorrow 3.45 Gowran Park- LAVINIAD - 5/2 You always have to take note of when willie sends one on the flat add to the fact pat smullen is on board and Wicklow Brave was beaten so he is due a winner 3.50 Worcester - VALCO DE TOUZAINE - 3/1 The champion trainer doesn't send many out this time of the year but he ran a good second in a handicap chase at Fontwell and ran well again over hurdles here, and although he has little room for error on his current Mark he runs consistently and its time for his head to get in front
This one stood out at me in this race too but so did Ballyglasheen 11/1 dropping down in class. When I get round to going to the bookies I'll be doing ew singles and reverse forecast on both. Also like Glenariff 7/2 in the last for Seamus Mullins
Certainly hope you're wrong! However, this track is very difficult and I can foresee a few errors being made today?
It looked like Hamilton had blown it at the first corner unsuccessfully trying to cut across Rosberg and losing the lead in Austria. Rosberg pitted first, ceding the lead to Hamilton but when Hamilton pitted the lead went back to the German. Other than Raikkonen and Alonso crashing on the first lap, this looks like just another formulaic procession that only petrolheads have any interest in. We know that Mercedes rigged the result at Monaco to let Rosberg win by pitting Hamilton under the safety car but not Rosberg, so anybody betting on F1 might as well bet on two flies crawling up the wall in the bookies. As I type this, Hamilton has picked up a five second time penalty for crossing the white line coming out of the pits so Stevenage’s only millionaire has no chance of winning the race unless Rosberg fails to finish.
3.15-Issheabayorgrey 3/1-Ive put this one up three times now and she done us a favour lto scoring over 6f.Stepping back up to 7f might stretch her but ive been told the yard are confident she can see it out as the horse is improving for each run.Small wager here 4.15-Beechmount Whisper 9/4.A close 2nd at Navan last week, can go one closer here and score.
****ing awful racing in the F1. I don't know if I can watch another race until a massive rule chance takes place.
Not being a great follower of F1, I do seem to recall reading somewhere (probably the BBC Sport website) that plans were afoot to reintroduce refuelling stops next season to try and mix it up a little and create more action. Quite frankly, this dead horse was flogged into a supermarket lasagne years ago. Only saw it today because it is on in the pub and nobody has asked them to put on Murray’s pre-Wimbledon bank balance booster at Queen’s yet. That is of even less interest. Hopefully it has finished by 5pm as a couple of friends of mine will show up for the England U21 match!
Im not normally one to pocket talk but Conor Keane was terrible there, didnt want to win. Some of these jockies would make you dispair!
Fingers crossed Dustin Johnson can do the business tonight (well tomorrow breakfast by the time it finishes!). Although a Jason Day win will be some story.
