Have been looking forward to a few of these for a while: Illuminate 7/2 Ascot 2:30 Stravagante 5/2 Ascot 3:05 Lucida 7/2 Ascot 4:20
she was 20/1 with a few this morning STH, she looked good winning her maiden and she will certainly stay, Smullen looks an interesting booking as well
Was she...all signs pointing to good run from her then. She was impressive the last day and ya would imagine there is more to come. Gonna back her at 8's here now. Missed the value but I think she's priced correctly around that mark as I'd have been happy with the 8's had she opened that in this field I think it's about right.
id agree, cant see her shortening an awful lot more, people probably noticing the form with Fabricate as well and he has always been around 7/1
Not had a great meeting but I think Mr Singh looks the bet of the week at 12/1 in a race full of doubtful stayers. He won the same maiden as Eagle Top and Scottish and Fabricate have franked the form since. Track and ground might have been against him last time and im expecting to see a different horse here, I think he could be the only 1m4 horse in the race.
14:30 - Fireglow 15:05 - Festive Fare, 15:40 - Hootenanny 16:20 - Found (Nap) 17:00 - Igider 17:35 - Yarrow
Away from Ascot in the 3:55 Market Rasen i'm having an ew punt on Boruma currently 20/1. If it gets its **** together then could go close at a big price
ASCOT 305- Stravagante You have to wary as O'Brien has had his string spot on all week but why would they supplement this one if it didnt have a chance? won easy last time out and if one is going to beat Ol' man River its this. 340- Anthem Alexander Won on his reapperance on ground that wasnt ideal and looked like he had grown and improved form 2-3, i think the fav is a worthy one but at 6/1 id rather take this one ew. 420- Erveyda This will be the french hope of dethroning Treve come October and to have a chance she needs to be taking this on route.
That 5.35 is a minefield for betting as the Coolmore horse Aloft could be a group 1 horse or a not really trained on horse. My instinct tells me it's the former but I would definitely agree that Yarrow or Fabricate must follow him home.
If Royal Ascot has been kind to you it may be worth looking to Redcar late in the afternoon as there might be a plot going down on one. Redcar 5.20 Regal Missile 6-1 This horse was bought out of William Hagges's yard after just getting headed in a Pontefract maiden. It then got it's handicap mark quietly by finishing down the field in a Doncaster maiden. The horse was turned out for it's seasonal bow at Haydock and started 50-1 showing nothing. What is interesting is the horse changed hands from WH yard for 40k, now I know that is not a fortune when it comes to racehorses, but its also way too much to pay for a 50-1 shot in a 6 runner class four handicap. Tomorrow the horse is dropped to class 5 and is priced at 6-1 and has already attracted money at bigger odds. Put simply, it's price last year was too high and it's odds tomorrow are too short for this horse to be what it has shown so far.
2.30 Ascot Mirage 40/1 is a bit of a speculative one but I think she could prove a live shot at a big price. Sold for £380k on Monday to Fitri Hay, I think she was Jamie Osborne's first 2 year old winner for a good few years (think I heard him say it on ATR a month or so ago but could be wrong) and although it was a poor race she won with poor visibility she did it nicely in the end having been outpaced in the rear from the outset. She should improve a bundle for that run and I think she could surprise a few from her good berth in stall 6.
Is Stoute trying to do a Conduit with Stravagante? So far they've run identically in exactly the same races. (finishing 3rd in that educational Sandown handicap followed by winning the first at Epsom on Derby Day: and amazingly tipped by me). Conduit didn't quite win the KE (should have), but today I think their paths will diverge and Stravagante will win. I'm torn in the last between Fabricate and Yarrow. I'm siding with Fabricate, who despite being by a miler has shown an authoritative attitude at 12f and looks as if the 16f is within his grasp.
