Cheers Josh - much appreciated and nice to hear a proper opinion instead of a paper bloke saying "the promising right back turned right midfielder is great" based on 3 minutes of youtube footage!!

Liverpool Ready To Sell Defender To Sunderland
    TUESDAY, JUNE 16, 2015 07:00 PM.
It has been reported that Liverpool are ready to sell willing to sell defender Sebastian Coates to Sunderland.

According to the Telegraph Coates will be making a move to Sunderland after the club has agreed a deal with Liverpool.

It has seems that it is almost a done deal as it seems that Sunderland manager Dick Advocaat has been given permission to go ahead with the deal.

First it was 30 million of Robertson, then it was Brady for 15 million. Now this <laugh><doh>

Everton and Newcastle transfer target Ahmed Elmohamady valued at £10m by Hull
Premier League pair had hoped an offer of around £4m would persuade the relegated Tigers to part with their Egyptian wing-back

94 and counting: Consecutive games Egypt star has played for Hull
Steve Bruce has pinned a £10million price-tag on Ahmed Elmohamady in a bid to frighten off Premier League sides Everton and Newcastle.

Toffees boss Roberto Martinez and new Toon chief Steve McClaren were hoping to take advantage of Hull’s relegation to the Championship by snapping-up right wing-back Elmo for a bargain £4m this summer.

But the Tigers are determined to hang on to the Egypt international, who boss Bruce regards as key to their hopes of bouncing straight back to the top flight.

And City believe they can keep hold of Elmohamady by handing the 28-year-old a bumper new three-year deal when he returns from holiday later this month.

Elmohamady’s value to Hull is reflected in the fact that he ended last season having played 94 consecutive league games for the Yorkshire outfit.

I know they're 'keep off' signals but they make him look like a deluded moron. Just say they're not for ****ing sale <laugh><doh>

Sebastian Coates is set to become Sunderland’s first summer signing, with the defender now a whisker away from completing his move from Liverpool.

The Echo revealed last month how Sunderland were pushing ahead with a permanent bid for Coates after the successful conclusion to his season-long loan proved crucial to the Black Cats retaining their Premier League status.

The deal - potentially worth up to £4million - is now close to being rubber-stamped
It is understood that Sunderland have made firm progress in their pursuit of Coates and the deal – potentially worth up to £4million – is on the verge of being rubber-stamped.

Coates’ participation in the Copa America could hold up any formal confirmation, but Sunderland are now increasingly confident that the Uruguayan will fill one piece of the jigsaw in Dick Advocaat’s plan to turn around the club’s fortunes next season.

Signing Coates was always going to be one of Sunderland’s most straightforward pieces of business this summer, with Liverpool ready to offload the 24-year-old ahead of the final 12 months of his contract at Anfield.

Leicester City were keeping tabs on Coates during the final six games of the season, when the centre-half was completely transformed and became one of the key factors behind Sunderland beating the drop.

But Sunderland were always hopeful that they could keep hold of Coates, while the player himself was keen to remain at the Stadium of Light after enjoying a sustained run of Premier League games for the first time since joining Liverpool in a £7million deal four years ago.

The only potential hurdle was Coates’ lucrative Liverpool salary after Sunderland had only paid a proportion of his wages during his season-long loan on Wearside.

Yet that appears to have been overcome, with Coates ready to agree terms to become the first signing of the Advocaat era.

Sunderland are still expected to be in the market for another centre-half, despite Wes Brown agreeing a one-year contract extension last week.

As reported last weekend, Santiago Vergini could return to Argentina for a second spell with Newell’s Old Boys, despite Sunderland being duty-bound to sign the defender after last season’s loan spell.

And that will give Sunderland the breathing space to land another fresh face at the heart of the back four, with the Black Cats keen to land Celtic’s Virgil van Dijk.

Could just be a coincidence that only defenders are available. So often top targets can only move if they're already replaced. Window doesn't officially open till 1st July takes a bit of time for the market to build momentum.

Do you blame him? He doesn't even have to move house. But if West Ham won't pay the loan fee he's had it.

Has anyone heard anything about Podolski coming to us?

My daughters boyfriend is a gooner (I know, I know <doh>), but he's heard he's coming to us on loan.

Probably just another typical workplace rumour in the silly season.....

**** sake, you could probably sign Tom Daley for a few hundred grand and a go on your butt plug Bri.

Let's face it, if you're gonna buy a diver you might as well buy a world class one.

Hull FFS, valuing their squad at £250m despite the fact that they got relegated, they're worth **** all, the lot of them, total shambles.

Unbelievable isn't it? Seb was our player of the season, by Brucie's logic he'd be worth 10-15m if we'd gone down. Fact is he's not worth anywhere near that and we stayed up! <laugh><doh>

Premier League club plotting loan move for Liverpool youngster Tiago Ilori
    Posted by Tom Simmons
BBC Sport’s Ian Dennis confirmed as much last night:

Ilori, who is still yet to make a senior appearance for the Reds, helped see off the likes of Harry Kane and new Liverpool signing Danny Ings as his side secured a crucial 1-0 victory over England in the opening round of fixtures for the European Championships.

The 22-year-old, who Brendan Rodgers signed from Sporting Lisbon in 2013, has spent the last two seasons on loan at Granada and Bordeaux respectively, although he only managed a total of 21 league appearances.

Nonetheless, the Reds are thought to be pleased with his progress, and are perhaps hoping that a short-term deal with a domestic rival will help take our starlet to the next level.

Sunderland has certainly been a happy hunting ground for Liverpool players in recent seasons. Fabio Borini spent the entire 2013-14 season there and was arguably their standout player, inspiring the Black Cats to the Capital One Cup final, and scoring the opening goal at Wembley against Manchester City.

Last season, Sebastian Coates went on loan to the Stadium of Light, and after a slow start he became a crucial part of their survival bid under new manager Dick Advocaat.

We’d like to see Ilori given a chance next term, but with Martin Skrtel, Mamadou Sakho and Dejan Lovren likely to be ahead of him in the pecking order, it’ll be difficult for the youngster to cement a first-team spot.

A lot of Liverpool fans might not like it, but we really wouldn’t be surprised if this one happened.

Fabio Borini: Liverpool forward wants to leave the club
Fabio Borini wants to leave Liverpool, according to the player's agent.

Borini, 24, was Brendan Rodgers' first signing at Anfield for £11mfrom Serie A side Roma in 2012.

But the Italian forward has scored just three times in 38 games for the Reds, and spent the 2013-14 season on loan at Sunderland, where he scored 10 goals.

"Fabio wants a new experience. There are teams from all over Europe interested in him," said Marco De Marchi.

At the end of his loan spell with the Black Cats, the North East sideagreed a £14m fee with Liverpool but Borini rejected the move.

The former Chelsea and Swansea man also turned down a move to QPR on transfer deadline day in September 2014.

Here we go again. I love the way his agent bigs him up. The truth is that if he had come here last year and done well, he would be far more attractive to teams all over Europe. I don't really want to know now TBH
