why would tiote leave us to cover for Essien and then face possible bench warming time when Essien is fit again. Essien is out for 6 months. why would he leave for that? catch a grip people. media tripe as usual

no i know some of you guys lining up a replacement but with tiote he has already settled into the area and his english is improving as well hes now used to the premierleague- and if we get someone like sissohko(?) or matuidi(?) it could be a risk of them not settling in, which is why i am worried about cabaye

but as chappaz said - don't sell him whatever the price

    Can't see him going.

He's settled. He's happy. He's a major player in the team. He's got a 6 year contract and has already been praised in the media by Pardew stating, "We want to build a team around him."

I would demand £20m and Sturridge and then go for Matuidi for £12m

I think this is just a case of we all expect it to happen so everyone is thinking of the best possible scenario. We've become conditioned to selling by Jabba. I'd hate him to go. For me he is in the top 5 midfielders in the country.

Aye but Overseas, Alan also said on arrival that Mr Carroll was not for sale at any price and would not be sold. I don't think it matters too much what Pardew wants.

let's just accept that Ashley knows no limits to his capacity for making incredibly unpopular decisions for his short term financial benefit. Same situation with Hughton, Carroll and Nolan.

If Tiote goes I won't be surprised, gutted but not surprised.

This story just seems like absolute bullshit, but its one that will no doubt be bought by a horde of moronic NUFC fans that just LOVE to have something to moan about.

Villas-Boas has already said he wants a long look at his squad before deciding anything, so i cant see him making many signings at all. He's also going to want players he knows about firstly, hence Moutinho and Falcao constantly getting mentioned. Why would Chelsea go out and spend a ****load of money on a player to temporarily cover one of their own injured ones when they already have Ramires and Mikel to a lesser degree that can play the same position?

They've had two offers tabled for Modric so I'd say they are actively in the market at the minute.

I keep reading that you would sell him for £xxmillion or £xxmillion so that we can buy so and so???? We got £35million for Carroll in January and thats not being spent on transfer fees so what makes you think and extra £10 - £20 odd million would be used either???

If the club can make a profit on Tiote then he WILL be sold to the detriment of the team. Newcastle United are now a selling club, Ashley and co are in this for the money (like so many owners are), nothing else. This policy of bringing in young players is simply to make a profit in a year or two (if not sooner).

With this attitude to running the club brings a severe lack of ambition, which TBH annoys me the most :(

Yeah, Modric is one player though... As far as i know theres only him and then enquired about Lukaku. Modric is the type of player they lacked last season though, the whole 'Essien' position isnt.

Having said that, if Tiote doesn't learn to stop getting needless, silly yellow cards this season i can see him being sold at the end of it.
