The other post about Tom should have been quoted too. You think it took 10 years for someone to think about closing down the string pulling holding midfielder with excellent ball skills?
I'm not sure i said that either Mr hat you mentioned 10 years. I said our midfield as I'm not sure we have that midfielder you describe. As for tom he's just got slow this season it's obvious to see
How many goals did we score from his supply ? So he has one of the highest crosses rates in the league, we had one of the lowest number of goals scored in the league. Why , if he's so good, Elmo that is, didn't he adjust his strategy to the inadequacies (strengths) of the goalscorers(sic) we deployed ? He can't be that good, or effective. No ? Or the opposition had sussed him out ? It was a blatantly obvious strategy Bruce deployed too much. "Shake it up baby, now".
Didn't want to make a new thread to ask but after the last relegation was any player sold for a fee? I can't think of any.
We also let a couple players go on frees, Geovanni went to the SJ Earthquakes and Cousin went to Larissa.
Elmo, Brady and Chester would all require eight figure bids to be sold, allegedly... http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Hull...n-linked-4m/story-26701097-detail/story.html?
That's the kind of stance we need to take. Put premium prices on all our players and even then only sell if we have ideal replacements already lined up. We don't want to be losing key players on deadline day for relatively small amounts of money.
Agreed on the first 2 lines. However,,, We were relegated for our poor strike rate. Plus McGregor and Davies costing us a number of wins earlier in the season.
Tomi Juric’s bid to land a deal in Europe is beginning to crystalise with Belgian powerhouse Standard Liege in negotiations with the clubless Australia striker while relegated Hull City is also showing strong interest. please log in to view this image Juric, who will be looking for game time off the bench in the Socceroos' 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Kyrgyzstan in Bishkek on Tuesday night, earlier this month rejected an offer from another Belgium Pro League club, Lokeren. Newly-crowned Belgian champion Genk and Mat Ryan's Club Brugge – which subsequently signed fellow Australian international Bernie Ibini instead – were also in the frame but pulled out at the eleventh hour. Having turned down an eye-watering $10,000 three-year deal to join Shanghai Shenhua in January – with fellow Socceroos star Tim Cahill joining the Chinese Super League club instead – Juric’s pay package at Liege would be a far more modest $430,000 net per season. It’s likely he would be far better remunerated by Championship side Hull where fellow forward Nikica Jelavic, who shares Juric’s Croatian heritage, is on the books but likley to leave the club now it has fallen out of the Premier League. Belgian newspaper La Meuse claims that Juric is in talks with Standard after the club was reportedly snubbed by KV Kortrijk's Croatian forward Ivan Santini, who is tipped to sign for Genk. Standard, which finished fourth in the Pro League this season, has strong Australian links with strikers John Aloisi and Aurelio Vidmar both having had spells there. Former Melbourne Victory goalkeeper Michael Turnull also spent a season with the club. Standard, which rates third in terms of popularity and prestige behind the big two of Anderlecht and Club Brugge, boasts 10 domestic league titles and six cups. Juric, who parted ways with Western Sydney Wanderers at the end of the A-league season, managed 12 goals in 34 games and will be looking for some game time in Bishkek, where he has been named on the bench, with coach Ange Postecoglou preferring a front three of Nathan Burns, Tim Cahill and James Troisi. http://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/article/2015/06/16/standard-liege-courts-juric-hull-circles 23 year old Ausie striker scored 12 in 34 for Western Sydney Wanderers last season. The big deal he turned down in China was actually worth $10m, not $10,000.
Reminds me a lot of Prozzie - has the height and the power but has no idea what to do with it. Who knows though, I would love to be proven wrong and would obviously love an Aussie at the club.
