Excellent news about Alex Neil. Regardless of which players come in this is our marquee signing.

McNally states that it is a "longer, new and improved" contract but no mention of how long ?

I wonder if that's to stop speculation in the next few year. I'm guessing the Alex has probably just signed the biggest deal of his career by a long way.

Presumably he was initially signed till the end of the season, so a 12 month rolling contract would be longer, but I'm hoping it's at least 3 years to stop the big boys sniffing round "on the cheap!"

He signed a 12 month rolling contract when he came here so this must be considerably longer. Bit of an understatement for McNally to call it 'the most important business' the club will do this summer!

This is excellent news and we should be very grateful. I hope that the contract period is sufficient for AN to really make his mark and at the same time deter predators circling when their own show slides down the toilet. It won't happen but I would love it if he was here (successfully of course) for a run like Wenger. I would like some real stability and that is something we have not had for a very long time.
