Jack Grealish: Aston Villa to meet with player over pictures
Aston Villa say they will be meeting with midfielder Jack Grealish after photographs emerged claiming to show the player lying in the street while on holiday in Tenerife.

"The club is aware of the photographs of Jack Grealish currently circulating," said a club statement.

"We will be meeting with the player but any action will remain an internal matter."

Grealish, 19, was warned by manager Tim Sherwood about his behaviour in April.

That came after the midfielder was pictured allegedly inhaling nitrous oxide, which is known as laughing gas and can be used as a legal high.

Grealish helped Aston Villa to the FA Cup final last season

Several photographs of the 19-year-old allegedly lying on the floor on the Canary Island were posted on Twitter by Briony King, who claimed the footballer was "paralytic".

However, the player appeared to deny it was him when he tweeted:"I'm on the floor apparently."

Grealish is a product of the Villa academy and made 24 first-team appearances last season as he helped the club avoid relegation and reach the FA Cup final.

He was involved in both goals in their 2-1 win over Liverpool in the FA Cup semi-final and qualifies to play for both England and the Republic of Ireland.

The player started in the final at Wembley against Arsenal but Villa were beaten 4-0.

Why wasn't I headline news? I was 20, in Tenerife (las America's) basically in the same state...

Sorry but this lad is 19 and got pissed up whilst he's off work it's a no story for me - how many of us can say we've never been in that state? Regardless of profession - it's not the middle of a season!

As for the England/Ireland idiocy - I watched him in the cup final and he was rubbish! Has had 1 good game and everyone wants Woy to pick him to make sure he chooses England!!

19 year old on holiday. Pretty standard. Its out of season so I don't see a huge issue.

    Absolutely
Football is in close season and media hacks are struggling with stories to sell to the red tops.
I hate this kind of thing. Let them go off and enjoy themselves for a few weeks of the year FFS

I can see both sides here. Yes, he should be able to let his hair down pre season. However I'm sure his club, who have spent time and money on him, and who could make money on him in the future, do not like the idea of one of their players drinking themselves into a potentially life threatening state. The club would be like a parent. They both wouldnt like their offspring to drink themselves into a worrying situation. Like choking on their own vomit, stumbling in front of traffic etc.

For what it's worth I say let him have his fun. However he looks like a right smarmy little twat and I can only wish he was on the floor because someone had smashed the greasy little prick.

For the money they are on, if I ever saw a Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern, Dortmund, Juventus etc etc to teams like Sevilla, Fiorentina etc, player like that (which I won't), then I'd know football was ****ed. There are winners and losers in all professions and this thick **** typifies a young English player in true glory that will win **** all. He needs a slap, his parents need a slap for not learning him the meaning of dignity..<ok>

19 year old lad gets pissed on holiday, must be a slow news day... Its funny my cousin (about the same age) was at Download festival over the weekend and I saw a few pics of him passed out in a field. I just thought, yep looks like hes had a good time.

To be honest I've no problem with it, it's the off season, so long as he shifts the weight and and clears himself of impurities I'd have no problem with one of our players doing that. But drinking bottles of champers worth more than the average annual wage of the area where they play football followed by rubbish performance after rubbish performance irritates me for obvious reasons. Which Is why this does little more than amuses me, while Connors antics last summer irritated me.

Some of the states Besty apparently used to get into were hilarious!! My Dad met him once and he was absolutely plastered (Dad tells the story all the time!) - day before a match at Roker and he could hardly string 2 words together - my mother tells it better as she said "Your Dad met George Best once. When he came home he could hardly talk as he was star-struck"

Now a kid gets that pissed and it's a crime!!
