We are not used to such young signings who could be good potential for the future. It will be interesting to see how they develop. I now make it three signings since the two Swindon lads. Chris Ramsey said that he wanted eight more before pre-season, so possibly five to go? It could be busy week at Loftus Road.
Perhaps I'm wrong, but I read both Ramsey's statement and the statement regarding the signing of the two young lads as entirely separate. I think Ramsey wanted eight first team players (which we need looking at numbers released), not including EDS signings. Really glad we're signing young kids with a look to the future. Anyone know how that Col Donaldson is getting on at CB in the EDS?
Released from Stevenage, not saying teams don't make mistakes when releasing players but.... released from Stevenage!!! Or am I missing something?
Lets hope so!! Only a one year deal for him would suggest the jury is still out. Maybe they see potential.
True, but I'd rather get young players who have been released, but might still improve, than old players who are on the way down...good to see IMO. Also, just to clarify, is EDS the new fancy term for under 21's?
I note that Les Ferdinand was at Hayes before we poached him, where I note he was also a prolific goal scorer, which continued throughout his career? Perhaps sometimes a talented young player does slip through the cracks? Certainly not saying they don't and it is really nice to see some impetus into the EDS. Lets just hope the development side of the club because a bit more fruitful, can't be any worse than they have been over recent years
This is good planning IMO - the conveyor belt of young players is pretty empty and so we need to get in some that might be in with a chance of first team football within a couple of years while we wait for any academy to make the longer journey towards the senior team.
