As far as im aware, Ty and Ted in no way shape or form fancy any of their own relatives! so that should rule that little rumour out!
Oh come on Guru, don't be disingenuous - it was you who flipped your lid at an innocuous comment to take the moral high ground. More disingenuity, quelle surprise. I asked for which other clubs were in for them, but it took one of the sensible posters to actually answer. Try to play nice when I am Guru, it's unbecoming.
"Potential" is factored into the transfermarkt valuations The point I've made a number of times is that for the price you could get you have a better chance of getting into the PL. Getting say £8m for Mings and Bishop I would guess would leave Evans in a very tricky position if he didn't invest any of it. My pure guess is that at least half of that would be given to McCarthy. As you only need to replace a leftback (if at all, given your defence) with £4m, you can hardly argue that wouldn't be a huge opportunity to strengthen and really make a push for it. Wouldn't you say?
Oh I know that, cheers mate. Not quite sure on the difference between admiring and revering, but happy with both to be honest. It was more the surprising post from my good chum Weighty that confused me
but if you can't buy better players with that amount of money then its a no brainer. you yourself has stated that we need to improve the midfield, so why sell our best midfielder to a club who we could potential replace next season? It would make more sense to hold out for a decent bid for Murphy who is older and potential have 2 decent seasons at best left. btw - 8 million would probably only get 1 of those players, definitely nowhere near getting both. no matter what your transfermarket jobbie website has come up with. end of!
If in theory this were to happen, assuming the rumour has any water at all (though I accept it does seem far fetched): Do you think your squad would be better able to compete if you lost Mings but McCarthy was given, say, £5m of the transfer fees to spend on new players? What would you use the funds for (i.e. would a new left back be essential) and how much else do you think there is in the transfer kitty?
if I wanted to say what clubs have been interested in mings I would have just copied and pasted a premier league table minus some small team from Norfolk! anyway, you lot were bleating on last season how your reserve side was better than our first team! why would you want them now?
Well that's just not true - the only ones linked according to WCP were Newcastle, Villa and West Brom. And I've not seen any other interest in Bishop. I don't recall saying our reserve side was better than you first team. Please could you point to where I said that? ? Have you missed all this time about the point being that Bishop would go back on a season long loan? That's what reduces the transfer fee but means you would only have to replace one player - i.e. Mings - if you needed a replacement at all. That's the whole point. So I suppose I would ask you the same question I've asked JWM just there. You can put your fingers in your ears about the transfer amount, but I've given you ample reason to explain those estimates which show the tipping point for where Marcus Evans would sell
where did I say that you said that? I said you lot and as far as I understand there is more than you as a Norwich fan! and it is common knowledge that Palace had a bid turned down last season, plus arsenal have enquired and more than likely put in a tentative bid.
Not all Norwich fans speak for all Norwich fans though, so I don't see the relevance. I never said Mings and Bishop weren't good enough. Other Norwich fans might have an opinion one way or the other. OK so currently we would be competing with Palace and perhaps Arsenal for Bishop and apparently West Brom, Villa and Newcastle for Mings. Only Arsenal and Newcastle would be able to comprehensively outbid us, and neither would provide the guarantee of PL football. What about my question to JWM - given that Bishop would be going back to you on loan, how would you want McCarthy to spend, say, £5m if Mings left?
no palace and arsenal were after mings not bishop! where did you hear this rumour rob? because Im sure that it has nothing to with your transfer thread and somebody starting rumours and this was the second post down from there! because your not that kind of guy!
