Apparently after winning tonight we are now going to be in pot 1 for the World Cup group stage draw. This is absolutely fantastic news as it means we won't be getting the Germany's, Spain's or England's in our group. Probably the best time to ever be a Wales fan. Well done Chris Coleman, proven all the doubters wrong.
Why? We can only go on what was accomplished at that time, we didn't qualify for the World Cup , and were humiliated 6-1 with Serbia and beaten twice by Croatia amongst others. Did he apologise at that time? Football is a result driven game, we win he gets plaudits, he loses then he gets criticised . I certainly will not be apologising to him, I will give credit where it's due which he deserves! I still don't like him though
Because he got a heap of stick and abuse when we didn't have fully fit squads. It's akways been known that for us to do well in a campaign we needed Joe, Rambo and Bale to play each game. The same people who were crucifying him are now lining up to kiss his arse on the radio etc.
Urghhh just surfacing ...... Valley keep the bloody noise down ! My head hurts ...................someone has carpeted my tongue ................. some Cardiff fan was hugging me after the match saying he knew I was a Jack , admired our way of doing things and hoped Cardiff would do the same and be back up with us . Yeah he was p****d Mind you so was I
Well I gave him stick at that time, I remember saying that he was useless when we lost 6-1, and that's how I felt at that time. So what did you say then, can you remember?
I didn't think much of Coleman when he started the job but have to admit he's got them playing very well now....but I don't think its all down to him. An interesting article by Jack Collison on the BBC website the other day suggested that Toshack and Flynn deserve some credit.....Flynn for developing the youth team, and Toshack for giving caps to a bunch of youngsters at an early age (Bale, Allen, Ramsey, Gunter). The fact that many are in their early 20's, yet approaching 50 caps, reflects that. The other influence on the National team has to be the success of the Swans, and briefly, Cardiff. There is a belief amongst the players that they deserve to play at the highest level, and that they are good enough to do so. There is a confidence from 1-11 which was not there before. I'm pretty sure that qualification is going to happen this time as this team is too strong to slip up. However, we have to set the foundation for continued success at national level and continued success for the Swans, in the EPL, as well as developing the academy, will only help. This hopefully is the start of continued success for Welsh soccer....I bloody hope so, as we've waited long enough !
