    According to the echo. Uh oh! Will Ashley sell?

    I personally think the club and Tiote would want the deal to go through, can't blame Tiote but can blame the club, to lose him and Nolan would be a disaster!

    I warned this would happen but he has signed a six year deal so they will have to pay about 40 million.

    Chelsea can afford to pay £40million.

    However, there are plenty of other (possibly) better DM's on the market atm for less, so its unlikely.

    Yeah, the long term contract means nothing other than protecting the interests of the club in the transfer market. We can demand big money. Hopefully no foundation to the rumours though and it's just some journalist reacting to Essien most likely being out for the season.

    If he did go I'd want a massive fee + Sturridge so we could go out and sign Sissoko (not the crap former Liverpool one) or Matuidi. Tiote seems happy where he is though and doesn't seem like a greedy bastard. Far from it.

    Why do I get the feeling that when clubs enquire about our players we never say 'no', we'll always give em a price. Bet they've said £25 million for Tiote.

    Names linked to replace Essien are Tiote and Parker so far. Tiote is better and younger but would be more expensive.

    It would be a huge loss! Why should we keep having to replace players?! Weve already got them!

    I'm not saying for a moment I would like to see Tiote leave, but if he did, it would make midfield selection much easier:

    Yeah hopefully Moutinho will go there as I dont think Villas Boas will know alot about Tiote but will have supreme faith in players that have already had success with him.

    Moutinho has a price tag of £35m. Villas Boas wants him but CFC scouts want Parker or Tiote.

    He is what makes our midfield so good! To lose him would be shocking. If he did go to Chelsea, we have to demand Sturridge in return!

    This exactly, how you supposed to build a team when key players are sold. Players bought already presumably have been done so to fit in with whom we have already in the team. I get the idea Chelsea are taking on the same tack as Man City have in the past, Man City's pursuit of Lescott was relentless, Chelsea now the same with Modric.
