BT will be unveiling their new channel BT SportEurope at 10-30 this morning.BT now have the rights to all CL & Europa League matches, previously BT Sport was free to BT customers but I have no doubt that they will now start charging for this service
Not strictly true as it will still be free for BT TV customers but even then it will only be free on TV,they will have to pay to watch it on a mobile device.
As far as I can see BT have all CL and Europa games. But they'll show 12 CL games and 14 Europa games free to air on their new channel. Everything else will be charged for in one way or another, either as part of an existing subscription or via an on top subscription to BT Sport Europe.
This is all down to SKY's greed. If they'd stayed as a satellite TV company BT would never have taken them on.I've read it and also heard a media analyst saying on radio last night that BT said to SKY 'We're a,telecommunications business and you're a TV business, don't poach our customers and we won't poach yours' Sky obviously thought no one, would dare take them on forgetting that BT are approximately four times bigger than them
I honestly believe that BT would have made a,bigger effort to get more of the PL TV contracts if they hadn't been spending £12.5 billion buying EE
BT can **** right off! I'm going to have to pay for BT Sport next season then. After ESPN lost it's games I stopped getting there channel but didn't go for BT Sport yet. If they have the CL games I'm going to be forced into it grrrrrrr!
Are you sure you don't have to pay for BTSportEurope, remember BTsports is free and should stay free so who says BTSportEurope will also be free
They're still crafty ****s though, even if you're a BTTV customer it's only free on TV.If you want to watch it on a mobile device you'll have to pay £5 per month
'Free' on a package that is almost £30 a month just to watch TV always strikes me as a big of a bad choice of phrase. It's like that dude who came on here hawking tickets to play in a 5-a-side tournament with a few ex-pros. Tickets were about £100 but you got a 'free' lunch. Yay! If anyone wants to transfer me £10000, I'd be happy to give them a 'free' £100 gift card for John Lewis?
As someone employed by BT, I couldn't possibly comment. However, I could not imagine watching football on a phone.
