Good appointment in my opinion. Did well with Croatia, not so well with Lokomotiv and Besiktas. But I think it will click for him at his old club West Ham. Exciting times for the Hammers moving to the OS and with Bilic and the helm. Can they overtake the likes of Spurs and those clubs just above them, or will they forever be a mid-table club at best ?
You can't resist a dig can you. Were the Hammers just below us. Does 17 points and 7 places constitute just below us now?
Calm down petal. West Ham fell away at the end of the season but they were pushing the spuds for a top 6 spot for most of the season. With Bilic in charge, a wad of cash from the porno chief and increased revenue from the OS, West Ham could well be doing the power shift on Spurs in the next couple of seasons. After all they have beaten you something like 4 out of the last 5 games you've played against each other
It is acually 3 out of the last 5, though none were last season and as that only makes it 4 wins in the last 17 matches its hardly a worry, you are right that the 17 point gap is closest since 2008/2009, but only 2 pts closer than the season before. I guess that is progress for them, shame that they didn't keep the manager who achieved it, but we can all hope that they go the same way as Bolton & Blackburn when they dispensed with Sams services.
It's not the most endearing comment about you either HIAG. Basically PNP is calling you a **** wum and you're lapping it up. I guess he remembers your meltdown on the spuds board when you started throwing your toys out of the pram at the mods.
They could go either way really. Last season they showed some good signs of improvement, but eventually fell away when it really mattered. Bilic has a good relationship with the club and I think he'll inspire them to do well. He got Croatia playing some really good football but his club management has been a bit sketchy since. It's all a bit of an unknown for West Ham with a new manager and new stadium. You'd expect a bit of a honeymoon period and it could provide a platform for them to build on again. I just get the feeling that West Ham, like Southampton with their decent academy, could have a springboard season if they get the right elements in place and it all clicks.
As I said before, PNP's excellent retort had to hurt, PISKIE! Ouch! What a stinger! Then again, you have no right to feel aggrieved. Even you must admit that I my comedy skills are far greater than your meagre efforts.
No, the fact that there are no hard feelings between PNP and myself. That grates at you, doesn't it, PISKIE?
This is just like old 606. All we need is for Ensil to turn up and be proved wrong - there are two ts in tw*t
