I second this, we take it for granted a bit that the thread is just there for us all to post on so well done for keeping up to it and putting the effort in
According to Peter O'Sullevan, the way to keep Attivo's mind on his work was to slip a finger under his neckstrap and exert a gentle upward pressure. So is Mrs Attivo doing that, or is there some kind of forum-volunteer rota ?

Jammy Guest 8.40 Kempton I might be barking up the wrong street with this one so its a mathematical speculation bet. Beat the 2nd fav (Rouge Nuage) in this race last month despite a 4lb penalty (it didn't win but beat it) and is racing today with less weight than the 2nd fav. Also sporting first time headgear. Been backed in from 16s to 9s
Fairy 6.30-I have put up Isheabayorgrey three times and the form has read 1 (6f) 2 (7f) 2 (5f).He races over winning distance 6f and connections are hopefull of a decent run. This is a 16 runner handicapp so have backed it EW at 9/2. Haydock 5.10-Chancery win 9/2
Ride of the week at Haydock - Ryan Moore got left at the start on Express Himself by 8 lengths when his horse decided to sit a bit and admire the stalls, he did not panic however and got him tacked onto the end and then threaded himself through gaps other jocks would have been happy to sit behind and go back to connections with a hard luck story, Ryan got the horse up to win cosily. Interestingly the commentator suggested the handicapper would not raise him too much because of the small winning margin, surely however he must take into account the 8 lengths head start the horse gave them.
I said last week that I can't fathom out the Johnston horses and again yesterday he had 2 odds on shots beaten, however Im going to take a chance on CHAMPAGNE RANSOM in the 5.30 Bev. Thought he was going to win last week when he threw it away by veering all over the place in the final furlong. Hoping that today like a typical Johnston horse he will go off in the lead from stall 2 and make all. I know ADC beat him a few runs ago and will probably be his made danger but I going for CR to come out on top.
I do not think that the handicapper has any dispensation to take into account riding tactics or horses being lucky/unlucky with how the race pans out. If he wants to put the winner up by ten pounds for winning by a head he would have to penalise the runner-up by nine pounds. That is why we so often watch something that we have backed winning by a couple of lengths and plead with the jockey to drop his hands and only win by a cosy half a length because then the handicapper will only raise it a couple of pounds rather than seven or eight compared to its opponents.
As it stands, next week we have Gleneagles, Consort, and Make Believe due to meet in the St James Palace stakes. Fingers firmly crossed.
Hi have been given Saxonette 7/2 in the 8.50 Hamilton, looks a tricky race but at least this one has been running well and was unlucky last time out at this venue.
