No, I think the Ladies would win that comfortably. ;) actually a better question would be how would our national side fair against Champions League opposition. I reckon there are few National teams who could beat the best in sides in Europe.
Oh, in answer to the stupid question, nobody with a brain, SB3.

It is not a silly question it is a well thought out and measured observation<whistle> I may watch the England Ladies in action in the World Cup against France this evening and check on my assertion that they have the ability to beat a bunch of Scummers!"<whistle> Please dont bring up an attendance debate though...........<laugh>

I am looking forward to tonight's game, France are one of the favourites so it should be a close game and a bench marker for our girls.
As for your 657 567 675 or what ever it's got on it hankichief sb, why not get it out for a England friendly as I guess you only used your white hankichief watching Pompey in the last few years

"Entertainment value" is subjective. The obvious gap in speed, strength and power between the men's and women's game cab be judged objectively.

Having an opinion that women's football is inferior (whether you agree or not) does not equate to a hatred of women, as implied by your frequent use of the term "misogyny."

Similarly, I dislike PFC but have a soft spot for the old town.

How many times do I have to say? Making any sort of comparison between women's football and men's football is pointless

Here, let me try it in big letters so you understand:

You cannot compare women's and men's football

You can of course say there is a gap in terms of such attributes, but if you were to do so, to use a metaophor of a scientific experiment, the methodology would be flawed. Unless one was the control group I suppose, but even then, that's not a direct comparison....

Yes, yes! Big letters too, so we can understand better<applause>

I think you're trying to say that we can't compare the two games<laugh>

All very well, but you belittled the Youth team result when it was brought up in response to your Ladies result. This, in itself, is inferring a comparison. Or at least implying that professional, Premier League, Youth team football is less worthy of our attention than the women's game.

Be that as it may, whatever the various opinions expressed on this thread, they still fall a long way short of "misogyny."

Good game between England Ladies and France Ladies this evening - only 1-0 to the French, with a lovely goal.

Mind you, did you see the deliberate and disgusting elbow in the face of an England player by a French player ? She had a massive lump the size of an egg under one eye. Greek referee missed it completely. Should have been a straight red card <grr>

I think it was fairly obvious, the conversation between me and Saints Alive was a bit of banter, a bit of verbal sparring if you will.

Ah, but you are a Pompey fan. I have heard your songs. Something about the Championship being upside down? I will bet there's a catch there somewhere otherwise it all sounds too easy!

Totally agree woops, but everyone seems to have missed the deliberate head-butt in the same indecent on our other girl. If the ref and linesperson were doing their job correctly then both should have had a straight red. I played it back lots of times and the better half who played women's football at the highest level told me it was two reds and I never argue with her in doors.

Although I agree that you cannot compare men's and women's football I was wondering what people on this board feel is a more accomplished achievement, winning the womens WC or finishing 16th in English Football's basement division.?

It would seem I have struck a nerve ! I was simply posing a simple question to try and gauge what peoples opinion was regarding how the elite of womens footy compares with a level of mens football that is ( and I won't mince words here ) ****e.

Why don't you grow up, you pathetic little twat. Is your total arrogance something to do with small man's syndrome, or do you just have a tiny appendage ? Or both perchance..... :emoticon-0119-puke:

This thread is rapidly losing the banter factor.
