Well well well. Who'd have thought it ? The 'New England' team scored 408/9 v New Zealand in an innings that gave them their highest ever score in one day cricket. It included 2 centurions in Root and Buttler and a world record seventh wicket stand with Buttler and the impressive Rashid. Can the bowlers come anywhere close to that performance?

Put the women's football on for ten minutes. Worst decision I've ever made.

Forces NZ to slog early on. Possible wicket as I type.

Cracking delivery by Finn to remove the potentially brilliant McCullam.

Second wicket for Finn Guptill goes for 22 after NZ started to make an impressive recovery. 52/2 after 6.3 overs.

Didn't take long for Bayliss to stamp his brand of cricket on us,did it!Totally refreshing approach, even when wickets were falling we kept up the aggressive intent.Root is in the form of his fledgling career and when Buttler plays like that, you simply can't bowl to him. Also great to see Rashid take his chance, scoring a fine 50 with some quality hitting, and showing just what he can do with the ball even on a wicket without a lot of turn in it.I've been calling for his inclusion for a while, and he must play in the Ashes. His ability to spin the ball either way, could be a game winner for us,he is light years ahead of Ali as a bowler.Bright days ahead, and a young and vibrant side playing with no fear is certainly the way forward.Let's just hope the same thing applies to the Super Hoops in the upcoming seasons!

This was a great game of cricket from an English perspective. We took on the WC finalist in the one day format and demolished them. Adil Rashid was a breath of fresh air with both bat and ball. To have a leg-spinner of this quality is a rare commodity in the modern game and I hope he goes on to succeed at every level. He was coached in his early years by the late and great Aussie spin bowler & coach Terry Jenner (RIP) who also coached someone who goes by the name Shane Warne.

He had all the tools 5 years ago pal,he just wasn't mentally ready for international cricket. He went off the rails for a couple of seasons, but under Gillespie's guidance at Yorkshire he has knuckled down and over the last 3 seasons has been top drawer in the Championship. He fully deserves his chance in the test arena,Gillespie has got to take a lot of credit for nurturing not just his talents, but also the likes of:Root,Balance,Lyth and other upcoming players!

It would be quite obvious that you're better informed than me pal. Well done Jason Gillespie and long may it continue.

He's a quality coach, and will probably be in charge of Australia within a couple of years.I honestly thought Strauss would give him the England job,but Bayliss' international experience and superb one-day record obviously swayed it in his favour. After what happened today,it's hard to say he got it wrong, the Ashes is going to be very interesting!
