Boring match - why the hell are we surprised by this; it's Woy Bodgson FFS!!! He was a 'safe' appointment by the FA; let's not take any risks on anyone who may upset the big clubs, let's employ a 'yes' man! Was a typical Bodgson team - lacking in imagination, belief and ambition. We have some talented players but Woy will never get them performing - he is building a team around Henderson for Godsake! Jonjo Shelvey has been one of the most impressive midfielders in the prem this season but Woy won't pick him because Swansea is too far to go and are not one of the top teams (in his pathetic opinion). We are going backwards at a rate of knots under Woy the wimp! England do best under a manager that allows them to go onto the pitch and express themselves; Big Tel Venables was the last manager we had that got the team playing to their strengths; playing the English way - attacking teams and scaring the s**t out of them! Terry had us playing to our strengths at Euro 96 and we looked like a proper team; we played at a premier league pace - every manager since has tried to play the way the continentals play - we can't do that; we never could and never will; and why should we - the Premier League is the most exciting in the world but come international time we try to play a game that is alien to us!! We will qualify for the Euros but will be just as disappointing and ineffective as we were in the last World Cup! England will always under-perform as long as the idiots at the FA continue to employ safety first robots like Woy! They have no vision or football intelligence and as a result England will continue to fall farther behind the rest of the world!
Neither of whom would be starting in a proper match. It was the ideal opportunity for England to end their agonising 30 year wait to beat Ireland.
