Yep but to be fair Rio suffered with his back for years, Terry doesn`t seem to have any problems with fitness.

Thats true. I doubt Terry will improve on this season though. Hes had his second wind and going forward, he will only deteriorate. That may take years.

The Chelsea fans with numerous brain cells on here know this and understand that for long term and sustained success, youth has its place. A player like Zouma is at that point in his development where he should start sharing the role with Terry with a view to take over.

Yep, and Ake should spend more time next to Matic (when they are controlling a game) so he is ready to cover for injury/suspension.

If Ake plays for Chelsea it don't think it will be alongside Matic. They're both left sided.

    Who needs to nurture kids?

We could bung £200M into the transfer kitty, lose 8 league matches and win fcuk all - seems like it is perfectly acceptable. :emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl:

Just as long as we have a minimum of 82.39% possession.

If it don't work out we'll smash another £200M at it and shut down Heathrow during matches so we can launch it up to a 9ft centre forward.

    Simples!:emoticon-0105-wink::emoticon-0105-wink:

why are you spending the most Money in the Premiership and biggest wages, if your academy is so good?

Surely you would rather play Manchester's answer to Busquets Messi and Iniesta than buy readymade stars?

With few exceptions like the Barca academy which now looks to have been replaced by big spending, the top sides buy talent, it is just the way it is given the demand for success per £ spent.
The fact that fans of a club who bring no youth through slating another side that do the same is funny, but then mancs are desperate for any banter leverage they can get now that they are playing for the 4th place cup instead of challenging for titles.

If Spurs were at the top and challenging for the CL Kane would most likely have not got his chance at Spurs. Sterling would not be playing for Liverpool if it was the same situation. The days of the top sides bringing through youth are all but numbered, only in rare circumstances where they find a gem will it be an exception. Otherwise title and CL challenging clubs want the best quality for every position.

United rather than play youth spunked 90 million on failcao and Di Maria. Januzaj and Wilson would have benefitted from playing all of last season, instead they spunked money on a flop or two, expensive ones. Proof right there that United do not develop youth.

i reckon both those young players would have had better seasons than their expensive counterparts

Better to have both. Feel free to name a side at the top who dont spend money. I Can name two sides who dont invest in youth or benefit football at all.

Oh and we make the most money. You make no money. Thats why we can spend it and you have to sell players off like small clubs tend to operate. You won the league though, so theres that... Greece won Euro 2004 too.... **** happens <whistle>

Proof we dont nurture youth because we buy players. Interesting conspiracy.

So Barcelona dont nurture youth either? They only spent 75million on a racist? Or will this conspiracy now spiral out of control?

United haven't produced anyone of note for over two decades other than Wes Brown. Everyone else was fairly average in top club terms. Dining out on the class of the early 90s is still the sales pitch for their youth programme. It's a myth. They make OK squad players then sell them, nothing to see here.....carry on.

For Christs sake can we stop this kindergarten "we're better than you" are crap and stick to the thread.
I'm ****ing tired of people arguing about unwinable differences of opinions as if it matters, Grow up. stick to the topic, and argue with someone else if that's what you get off on, but do it somewhere else.
You are NOT more clever NOR better because of the Club you support.

Like redconn says you make squad players and sell them on. Like Chelsea.

Or you cannot develop them so other sides like Barca take a chance on Pique and turn him into a world class player; or Juve with Pogba

To make out you are a leading club for youth development is deluded.

You were 20 years ago, Barca and Lyon overtook you in the 00s.

You can't dine out on your 90s academy forever, just like you say Liverpool should not bang on about their success in the past

We are the leading club in English football. As you've basically just conceded.

So why have you been arguing when you agree? You just cant accept criticism of Chelsea really. It burns you deep, especially because its all warranted. :D

Who the fcuk made you the board Ayatollah?

I've only been coming on here a few months and this isn't the first time you have made an outburst like this. Cease your attention seeking drama bollox and use your ignore button if I or anyone else pi55es you off.

You would never consider telling people what to say or not to say in reality so don't attempt it on here. Neither you or anyone else will be telling me what to post provided I stay within the forum rules.

Fans in England have banter, we take the pi55, it's what we do. I don't know how long you have been in Aus but I don't expect a convict to understand so step off that kangaroo and stop playing the school teacher eh?

By the way, being Chelsea does make us better than anyone else. It always has and always will.

    It's amazing the cack

What are you ****ing about you retard, so you can't add, and you can't read, <laugh> I clearly said all the top sides buy they do not develop, even Barca, how many academy players have they left and where are the new ones?. The job of developing players for the top sides who challenge for all the silverwear are the 2nd and 3rd tier clubs and lower.

You are now a feeder club too, Anyone you have that will become a world beater will leave for Madrid while you take the players Real don't want, heck you take the players not wanted at Chelsea never mind Real and Barca, and pay way over the odds too, sucker feeder club <ok>

I think Rafa taking over at Real may have saved De Gea for you tho<whistle>

You're not taking the piss, you are just using the success of the Club to one up others.Taking the piss requires irony, not just one- upmanship. Being a Chelsea supporter makes you smarter, not better.
Your comments about convicts and Kangaroos gave me a good laugh, though it's a bottom feeder. I'll let you in on a little known fact. Only 65,000 "convicts" were sent to Australia over a 20 year period. They were the lucky ones. During that same 20 year period there were another 2,375,000 "convicts" who stayed in English gaols. They got the runners up prize. My guess is most were Liverpool supporters, but some of them might have made it to Chelsea.

You must be proper fun to be around Bruce. Try smiling today, you may enjoy it.

Like I say, cease the attention seeking, the drama and attempting to bully others into posting what you want them to. Save it for Neighbours perhaps? It didn't work last time you tried it on here and it never will. You are not Chief Walla Walla of the Chelsea forum so acting big isn't going to scare anyone.

l'll let you into a very well known fact. If you were ever a regular supporter at Chelsea instead of an internet fan you would know that we have been taking the pi55 far longer than our successful periods.

    Woah come on guys.
Lets not turn on each other, this isn't the Arsenal board <laugh>

Also, CP is our regular grump BITKOSB, and can sometimes irk the youngsters, but even if I was to concede your point, please bin the Xenophobic remarks.
