I got married in the West Indies. Disadvantage - no stag do; advantges - no long lost relatives looking for a cheap piss up at your expanse; plus the chances of family feuding getting an airing are left back in England. And the weather is better.

    I just chortled.

Wife glared at me and said "football bollocks? Isn't the season over?"

    Leeds has been mentioned.

I'm going on Monday, for a **** about really, on train - so I shall be having a drink or 7.

Bummers, recommend the **** out of it. And no poncey places, I like places that aren't common, but nowhere with feature walls or whatever. Good beers, relaxed atmosphere, in the city centre please.

    Thanks in advance.

Belgrave Music Hall is your best bet, particularly if the weather is good. It has a truly brilliant rooftop beer garden, just keep going up through the floors. It's a decent stroll from the station so maybe pop into Friends of Ham, Tapped, Roxy Ballroom and Nation Of Shopkeepers on the way. The first 2 are craft beer heaven with The Guardian naming FoH as a national treasure. If you want casual food I recommend, as per the thread the other week, Almost Famous.

    You're welcome.

    Much obliged sir.

I'm going to take the opportunity to browse some music shops too. There's a handful of independents in Leeds I believe, which is novel in this day and age.

I went on a week long stag-do there and absolutely hated it. Worst place I have ever been on holiday. FACT.

You'll have to explain "Power" Stag do to me. I'm not sure what you mean.

It's someone's surname. They had a stag do last week... Cricket in Leeds and night out! Different group though by the sounds of it... weird.

Just googled it as didn't know where it was. Look for the website likealocalguide.com which has info on night clubs, pub crawl (10 euro) kayaking etc including "Wrong Room Escape Quest is a live adventure game with a choice of 3 different scenarios. Your team (2–4 people) will be locked in a room and given just 60 minutes to solve a series of puzzles and get out in time!" Had good reviews so each to their own.

Yeah and don't forget to pick up a left handed spanner whilst you're at it.

GTF they're names of pubs. I'm not having it. The world's turning into a Chris Morris piss take.

How long did you go for? For 2 days it could be alright, for a week it's ****ing dogshite. If you're the kind of guy who likes flashing lights and every single place in the entire city being EXACTLY the same then no doubt you'll have a blast, I'm more of a kind of culture, variety and history guy. It's a real vice of mine.
