The problem with Marsh was that just like Pascoe he has no experience at the top level, add a manager who is the same and it's a bad combination. Rodgers needs the right people around him.

I think it's really harsh that Marsh who's played football at a higher level than either of those two, did his badges and is in the process of working his way up - how do you get experience any other way? - is being 'sacrificed' in the name of improvement. None of the problems such as transfers, poor goalkeeping, tactics, man management have been down to him. There's a real sense of losing touch with what the club means here.

Coaching is a problem though. All of our players regressed this season, bar Coutinho.

I agree - Rodgers is single biggest problem. Unfortunately, he's staying. So we need to get bring in better coaches around him.

As I mentioned above, it will be interesting to see if Rodgers's get rid of some of his mates like Pascoe etc.

Marsh is more highly qualified than Pascoe as well. As I said it's a shame they've dumped him. Would you welcome Sammy Lee back?

Rodgers is never going to go for someone who would 'threaten' him.

This is the problem - he needs strong characters around him. We talk about how he's learning on the job - who will he learn from if he's surrounded by yes men.

I think the Echo alluded to bringing in an ex player. Perhaps Hyypia?

Do you get the impression Rodgers wants to get rid of anyone with a past association as a player with the club. Resulting in all the backroom staff being from outside the club and therefore removing any emotion from decisions

Good point. I think he feels threatened by 'characters' e.g Reina [without getting into the 'he deserved to go' argument] .... and by people close to the club like Marsh. Most managers want to bring their own assistant but when the two of them have so little experience, it shouldn't have happened.

The other fella is right, he'll not bring in anyone who's a strong character and might threaten his authority.

I think behind the PR sound bites lies someone who's probably quite insecure. A top end football man would cringe at some of the pap he comes out with, so he'll never bring one in. Pascoe is merely his yes man, he'll never bring challenge to the table and Rodgers likes it that way.

The best there's ever been always had great coaches and strong characters as his sidekicks, Rodgers never will.

I agree with the comments - he does feel threatened by anyone who challenges him. Look a the players he's personally brought in - Borini, Allen, Lallana, Lambert, Lovren. With the exception of Lovren, the rest are just a bunch of choirboys. They will worship Rodgers. He's gotten rid of big characters and alienated others.

The only powerful figures he sucked up to were Gerrard and Carragher because of their influence at the club.

Apparently he's looking to move from his stint as manager for some team in the middle east I believe.

I wonder if he'll join Rafa at Real ...

He won the treble this year with Tel Aviv (I think). Heard Danny Murphy mention him the other day and remembered how we've gone down the ****ter since he left <ok> I think he might have already quit (since Rafa was lined up for the Real job) so I reckon you're right.
