That's too many. Don't want 15 new players in one summer! Gomez will stay and so should Giacch and possibly Coates IMO

Those two we don't own in order to sell, Vergini signed a pre contract, we can't sell him yet. We can't sell Graham We've tried sell time and time again may have to send him on loan paying most of his wages and it still doesn't mean we've freed enough to bring in another. Brown is out of contract,
You need a better grasp on our squad situation fella. :p

Giacc is the best player at the club imo. No way I would sell him.

Well, let me put a dampener on it first. I don't think Ellis Short is going to allow the spending most people think. We're still going to spend essentially what SAFC can afford - and I applaud that. But what we have today is a man who looks at the team and says "It isn't as bad as most people make out. We need maybe 4 players to make it a more balanced team." I'm not looking at more money to spend - that hasn't been the problem here. What I'm looking at now is a manager and a DOF who will get full value for that money instead of a bunch of dreamers who would waste millions on relegated rejects.

I honestly believe that what we've been lacking so far is a Dick Advocaat. And I'm absolutely delighted that it's been put right.

Don't rain on our parade Relic.

4 quality First Team players are an absolute minimum and maybe a few additional squad players as well.

You're still talking maybe about £30m. Some of the numbers mentioned may be a bit euphoric but I don't think £30m is, not in today's game.

I was thinking with wages ect all in. £50m for fee, wages, agent fees and sign fees should do nicely.

Gradual improvement is required not wholesale change for the sake of it, two or three significant signings can see us reach mid table easily, which is all we can ask for, plus a few more goals, a decent performance or two from the word go, bring it on, I can't wait for the season to start. Define gradual? I agree with Dick that we need 6 player 4 of which are genuine quality team improvers. We do have loan players and out of contract players departing and leaving holes in the squad.

Agreed, Blunham. But we're not talking £30m, £50m, or anything else. Money hasn't been short here - we've spent loads. The issue at Sunderland is a***holes who wasted that sort of money. Now, I think we have a responsible Chairman, plus responsible people to spend it - and that's what I respond to.

I would define gradual as not expecting too much in the first three weeks
