Good to see Mourinho's mind games backfired on him against PSG. Put into the Ref's head how dirty PSG were in their first game. Led by Terry the other 7 surrounded the Ref pressurising him on the Oscar incident. Hope PSG are now twinned with Shrewsbury Town FC. Half and Half Scarfs anyone. Then there was the Luiz goal celebrations, good to see an ex-player go bonkers, although still remember his block buster against us, and he went mental then too.
Blimey, the QPR finances are in a bit of a state - and no wonder their bank, RBS are in a mess. Here’s the QPR Accounts 2013/14 :
Those QPR Acccounts show a loss of £9.8m. However, that relatively low loss was only possible because the owners (mainly Tony Fernandes) "wrote off" £60m of old loans - pretending in the accounts that it was 'extra income'. But it is in fact counted as 'a related party transaction', which is not allowable under the Football League FFP rules. In effect the 'real losses' therefore are £69.8m. And if the League decide that's the position, QPR face a fine of £57.9m. Failure to stump up could result in their expulsion to non-league football. Oh deary me!!!
Looking likely that my new job will be based in Hammersmith, 10 minures from the Cottage. Is this a blessing or a curse?
If you can't make it to watch Fulham get a point on Wednesday, might as well watch Jimmy get a record tonight. please log in to view this image
As can I..... although I'm guessing you don't need to use Google Images. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't jealous.
Blimey it's hot. What are everyone's thoughts about Kevin Pietersen and not being selected for the England squad. There's so many ifs and buts and to be honest they are probably better without him in the dressing room but by 'eck they need his runs.
Not so keen on KP as a person. However, when he’s in the mood, you can’t but respect his ability. Think on this occasion the ECB have done the dirty on him and could well end up having bitten off their nose etc. etc. I’ve got tickets for the 4th day of the New Zealand and Aussie tests and at the moment not at all sure I’ll see much cricket in either match. [True story - when registering his son the Registrar told KP that each birth certificate would cost “three-fifty”. Quite unfazed, KP said he’d have two and started peeling off fifty pound notes from a wad he’d taken from his pocket; mistakenly thinking they were £350 rather than £3.50. How the other half live!]
You couldn’t make it up - The Manchester Evening News has reported that emergency services were called to the luxurious home in Altrincham of Chris Smalling, after police on patrol in the area noticed smoke coming from the property. They found a large whirlpool bath alight in the back garden and the fire spreading to nearby decking. please log in to view this image Source: http://www.manchestereveningnews.co...ghters-called-home-manchester-uniteds-9246415
Roy certainly did us financially proud when he flogged him, since then its us who has been £££ mugged
This is outrageous from Fabregas - outrageously accurate even if outrageously silly. https://v.cdn.vine.co/r/videos/DCA7...p4?versionId=GAUSIC6wzLRq9mCl9YzCo6OdNwFLlp3t
Wonder where you were tonight Fulhaman ? please log in to view this image Great win for Sevilla and twice on the trot. But well played Dnipro as well - remember them?
Nobody interested in the Fifa business? I've hated Fifa and its corruption for years, so I'm hopeful that the US and Swiss investigations will flush all the rats out of the shed and bring some daylight to the events that lead up to Russia and Qatar getting the WCs. The US prosecution will be limited to what happened on US soil, but the Swiss investigation has the potential to bring all the dirty deeds (done dirt cheap) out into the public view. Funny this week how Blatter basically blamed everyone for the corruption. If Blatter didn't know about it, he's incompetent. If he did know, he's corrupt and I can't see how he remains in power. But nothing shocks me, anymore, when it comes to Fifa.
Because the majority of votes in the Presidential election belong to small, poor federations. Blatter is clever - he doesn't participate in bribery himself, he leaves that to his cronies. What Blatter does is redistribute cash to small countries at the expense of UEFA (and a percentage set aside for FIFA "expenses") which makes them much better off. Of course they are not going to vote to turn off the money and he is consequently untouchable. When he does die, he'll be replaced by a corrupt clone. The only way things change is if UEFA pull out of FIFA (taking the majority of the cash with them).
Should be interesting to see if anything comes of this Swiss investigation. I'm not holding my breath.
My song to Sepp Blatter: It's about damn time. Now we get to see if the corruption continues under a new Blatter-like weasel, or whether the legitimate and honest soccer people within FIFA can change the bylaws and shine some light in to the darkness. First order of business: revoke Russia's and Qatar's illegitimate WC bids and start over before it's too late.
