I think most fans had grown weary of his nonsense soundbites when we were doing well and his inability to see or admit problems when we were getting beaten. I don't really think there was that much of a split the majority would have welcomed Klopp.
He's still our manager and we have to live with that for a while longer, nothing much has changed he has to get the signings right or he'll be done.
I think we'll all know how his story ends by the players he brings in and the players he sells, getting rid of the underperformers will show that he can admit mistakes and learn from them, stick with them and it'll all go wrong pretty quick once again next season.

Another season of mediocrity, sprinkled with bad signings and tactical calamities and players that can't be arsed for an incompetent manager.Transfer money! I wouldn't leave the window cleaner's money with him.

All will hinge on the first 6-8 games of the season for Brenda now. This is more a stay of execution than a confirmation of unqualified support. Do well in those (c. 15 pts from possible 18 say) and he'll buy more time (continue to do well after - solid top 4 - and the wums will be dragging threads like this up as we shamefacedly try and justify our past ire), do badly and toil and fail in those and it's curtains and rightly so.

I get the feeling we will be getting a nice Zero net spend this summer. sack him or back him, looks like FSG will do neither,

What can they really do?? He's still an unknown quantity really. One great season which nobody is sure if he had any role in bringing about and two really mediocre ones. The fella has it all to prove still, even though he said give me 3 years, years that have now expired

Give him some serious money to spend, seeing as they trust him enough to keep his position they should allow him to carry on the rebuilding of the gaping hole Suarez left. But that won't happen, and without any major signings Rodgers really will be ****ed, and sacked. So all of this is a bit of a pointless exercise.

I heard it from you and before it was announced anywhere (I checked). Credit where due, your source was correct.

He's already pissed a ****load of wonga up a wall of utter utter dross, so you can see why they're reluctant to let him continue his pissing competition of who can get their piss to spray up and high over the toilet wall first

Can't change the bloody past can we! All we can do is look forward, and what is clear is that our squad is a mess and in need of funds. FSG have decided Rodgers is still the man for the job, so they need to back him - no point expecting him to perform miracles with the **** we've ended up with.

Hang on a sec. Your argument is surreal. It is as if it was being conducted last summer when Suarez left. and that this season never happened.

He HAS been given a huge amount of money and he HAS squandered most of it on awful players. He HAS gambled £16m on Balotelli (in fact with the negative impact that player has had he will have been expensive as a free!).

Why do people think this new season will be any different to the previous one? Why give him time when we all know his faults and that he is simply not good enough as a Liverpool manager? He needs some more training on coaching and man management and a DOF, a defensive coach and a GK coach. He needs someone to help him recruit new players. He needs someone to help him with tactics for the difficult games. So what's his purpose?

It's all too much of a headfuck to try and decipher lad, but the basic principles that 1. they've/he's bought ****e, 2. need to buy quality and 3. ship out all the dross soon as, whoever's got the captain's hat on, apply

Mate - I'm not advocating he stay - I'm saying that FSG obviously a) don't blame him solely for poor transfers or b) still think he's the man for the job

That being the case (and fact, as he's not being sacked), they need to continue to invest in our squad. I'd prefer new blood was able to spend it, but that's not going to be the case. What's clear is that if we stick with last year's squad, less sterling and with the addition of a few journeyman, we will end up 6th at best.

There is a reason we didn't finish in the top 4 this season. Let's compare our situation with Manchester United at the end of last season. When they finished outside the champions league spaces they attracted the likes of Di Maria and Falcao (world class at the time). We finished 2nd and the best we could do was attract Mario Balotelli... We couldn't even convince southhampton players to arrive. Having to bid ridiculas amounts of money for squad quality players, with player agents effectively being no where to be seen.

Yes, we don't have the same pulling power in the modern day game. Yes our manager hasn't been around the block; But that 2nd place looked pretty impressive at the time and that considered, our transfers have been shocking. For the record Rodgers has done well with what he has been given. And following Balotelli's signing, I query how much influence he ever had over transfers to begin with.

So when the inevitable happens to the alliance of Brendan with less say in his job and FSG's taking more footballing decisions and Brendan gets the bullet only FSG will be to blame for it, who else can we blame?

Rodgers was obviously desperate to keep his job and is now prepared to work under sanctions from the owners, that in itself shows they are not prepared to let go of the reins and let the club prosper in football terms in the hands of football people, Abramovich, the Glazers, Mansour and the Arsenal owners don't get involved in their club's in footballing terms as much as FSG.
The committee, setting the parameters regarding the age and type of players to be signed, not appointing an experienced/successful manager when Kenny got sacked.

Rodgers is lucky he's at LFC or he'd have been looking for another job by now if he was at any of the clubs that finished above us last season, I just think its a combination of a manager out of his depth and owners that are trying to run LFC along the lines of their first love The Red Sox and are too hands on.
