Depends how he approaches the meeting with the owners. If he blames everyone but himself and asks for another £100million they'll think he's taking the piss unless he can come up with a credible reason why the vast majority of his signings to date have turned out to be crap.

If Brendan Rodgers has to be forced to accept the transfer policy of owners(only condition) to remain
as the manager of Liverpool FC, it's going to be marriage of convenience for the next one year.

Just seen The Mirror's(yeah ok its only the Mirror) take on the meeting with FSG and Rodgers, apparently he's going to be told by the owners "its our way or the highway"

But what is FSG's way?, if their way is any different from what we've had so far from Rodgers it cant be any better can it?
Our owners are slow learners when it comes to football, giving an almost novice manager the amount Rodgers has spent during his tenure for example, not appointing someone(DoF)to oversee Rodgers or not sacking Rodgers after the Stoke game and appointing a proven manager with previous success in his CV.
FSG's policy of buying young players(English if possible)will get us nowhere in a hurry and Sterling shows what can happen if they improve enough to believe in their own hype, our owners need to look at other prem clubs that finished above us or just below us, take into account our status and decide if they're happy with the money 6th or 7th earns the club, if they are happy with the current situation which looks likely if Rodgers is kept on the future is not very rosey tbh.

We have to thank FSG for taking us on after the shambles we were in. Even if it was/is only a 'business' to them, did that matter to us when we were in dire straits? Our expectation of them has changed a lot I think. We've gone from 'can't someone, anyone buy us and get us out of this mess' to 'they haven't got a clue'.

If this is just a business, they will be focussed on making money and happy with finishing as high as possible each year and going as far as possible in all comps. If it isn't, they will want to win a few trophies, attract top players and mount a serious attempt to win the league - and that is key to how they approach the manager situation. Keep Rodgers, keep bobbing along or get shut and start putting club success before [or at least equal to] making money.

Until the stadium expansion has paid for itself, expect the board to be happy with regular 5/6th place finishes with the occasional above par finish in top 4. After the expansion has paid for itself, maybe we'll be in the top 4 in terms of revenue and FSG could be able to purchase world class players in their prime.

Capacity still going to be under 65000, compare with Emirates and OT.

It's a step in the right direction though and a signal of intent that they are improving their asset and there is scope to extend further.

The revenue the club/owners make won't all go into the transfer kitty whether we have a refurbished ground or not, its not necessarily the amount of money we've got to spend its who's spending it and on which players, our wages bill could hold us back from potential signings and not being in the CL.

The club/owners need a radical think about if they're prepared to do what ever it takes to make us compete with the teams that finished in the top 4 places last season on a regular basis.

Well, he's safe according to various sources coming out now.

That's us resigned to 6th again next year then lads.

Looking forward to another year of **** tactics, playing people out of position and then freezing them out of the team when they don't set the world alight, never making clearly needed substitutions and bullshit excuse after excuse.

    Gonna be a great year!

6th! That sounds like a perfect recipe for a title challenge.

You also forgot uninspiring transfers and paying too much for average players <diva>

Hurrah for the neutral fan. Heres to FSG giving him his safety. Next step is to give him a new 5 year contract as well and 100m to spend on benteke, milner, delph, berahino and the next best british players plz

""My mandate does not appear to be supported by everybody." said Blatter, bit of an understatement

Very disappointing but I'm guessing no class manager was available, given Klopp wants a break.

Wish Rodgers all the best - can't say that I'll support him but I'll back the team no matter what.

Now, he must learn how to play big games, Chelsea, Man City Arsenal Manchester United otherwise he's postponing his
    sack days.

It's not just big games - it's games where the pressure is really on us. We rarely win the games when there is something riding on it - Rodgers can talk about character all the time but we have such little.
