James Milner to sign for Liverpool as a fat. Could Sean Dyche be the next Sunderland manager ? Linked to them. Diego Costa rumoured to be wanting a move back to Spain.
Steve Bruce has slapped a £10m price tag on the head of James Chester. Chester is quoted as saying " I don't know whether I'll stay or go, but you want to play at the top". See ya later then James...
Would be a shame to see Chester go, but it's understandable for someone of his age and ability to be wanting to play in the prem - with rose tinted glasses I hoped he would give us another season. We still have Dawson, Davies, Maguire and Bruce whom are all capable at this level. Kind of makes letting McShane go seem even worse though if we stick to a back three and lose Chester!
Glad to see the club holding to their guns and not giving our players away like it seems a lot of the posters on here want to. Do you reckon the club will hold out for £10m? If a bid for 5 or 6 million comes in I reckon he's gone.
OLM was the one who originally brought up Berbatov. Normally he doesn't pick players we wouldn't have a chance to get so I just assumed he might be willing to play in our league.
I've never moved a post from one thread to another, I assume I have the facility to do it somehow, but I've never tried.
You would think such nonsense. Chester wont be sold for a number of reasons. The main one being we are going for a swift return to the PL. OK
Anyone remember Ricky Van Wolfswinkel? Apparently surplus to requirements at Norwich. His goal scoring record before they signed him was excellent. Maybe a swap loan deal with Jela would be beneficial for both parties.
Yes, 1 from 25 says he went to the same "School for Strikers" as Proschwitz, Altidore, Graham and Sagbo. His Uncle, Rip Van Winkel played for Newells old Boys!
Van Wolfswinkel is an odd one, though he was absolutely dire for Norwich(and hasn't had a brilliant season on loan at Saint-Etiene this season), his goal scoring record before that was brilliant. 28 in 55 for Sporting Lisbon, 26 in in 64 for FC Utrecht, along with goals in the Europa League against the likes of Man City and Napoli. Saint-Etiene actually want to keep him, but won't pay the £4.3m that Norwich are demanding(half what they paid for him).
He's certainly played in tougher leagues than the Championship! He could be a proschwitz Mach 2 but big Nick only played in the 2nd tier in Germany which is pretty bad at times. A loan wouldn't hurt us (financially) or him with game time.
