A win is a win. To win the league or cup luck needs to be on your side.

I've already postulated why rodgers got lucky in December with injuries

The press right now are fawning over him again and he can call 3-4-3 complex and get away with being dominated by swansea and having to change it cod two of his players were not bothered playing wide right and he could not get them too

I think he does deserve credit for the changes he made in the second half - but equally deserves criticism for poor tactics in the first half but having the wing backs play too deep.

Personally I wouldn't be disappointed if you got top 4.
Probably be better for Chelsea in the long term to be honest, the longer United stay out of the CL the more it affects them financially which can only be a good thing for their rivals

It will cost Man Utd over £70m to not get in the CL

It wasn't a fluke. We deserved to finish 2nd because we had a world class attack which was let down by a poor midfield and defence.

It was all based on Sturridge and Suarez up front in a Newcastle under Keegan type all out attack.

Now the better half left it was going to be very difficult to replace him

we had no depth in attack last season and it cost us the title

we could have lost 1 forward and still finished top 4 this season

losing 2 starters destroyed our season

Without Suarez the best you can manage is being humiliated by Stoke. 6-1 <rofl> Brendan should resign after a humiliation like that <rofl><rofl>

Why? That's Liverpool's level without Suarez - maybe not 6-1 every match but mid table certainly. And Rodgers is a mid table manager. Don't get all these calls for his head.

No depth in attack is what cost us the title last season? It was the shocking defending and midfield which let us down last season, and it's what's letting us down this season.

Rodgers clearly doesn't recognise most of our problems stem from a non-existent midfield, and his defensive record throughout his career is terrible. No signs of him learning from his mistakes.

    rubbish

we had an ace XI then nothing

what killed us was not having anyone to come on an change a match in the rare instance we conceded first or were drawing late

we leaked nearly all our goals winning 6-3, 5-3, 4-3, 3-2 etc

defence wasn't what cost us at all

Conceded 50 goals. We scored 100 goals. We are one of the few times have scored 100 goals in 1 season and NOT win the title. You cannot say lack of depth in attack is what cost us.

And we didn't have an ace XI. We had a world class attack. The rest of team was awful.
