Hi Folks. First ever post here. Hope I find you all well. Re. Bothroyd. I remember saying to a friend that I thought he could be a good player but that I hated his abillity to fall over like he'd been shot when tickled by a feather. If it was due to Dave Jones at scumdiff, then I'd be happy to have him. If it's something he bring to us (if he signs) then I'd rather not have him. It's something that would get right up my nose as it's a side of the game that really annoys me. (felt the same about Tarbs sometimes last season too I'm affaid.)
Welcome to the board QPR! Agree with you re. diving. Back in the day, Brit fans used to see this embarrassing / annoying feigning stuff as a foreign (Italian and South American) form of cheating. Then Rodney Marsh started doing it...
Thanks for the welcome Brix. Never new that about Rodders. (Whom my dad wanted to name me after till my mum told him to get stuffed. Lucky escape)
didn't finish my article yes welcome again QPR, if bothroyd signs he will have a better manager & one who smiles & will be good for the team, tarbs you take him with rough & smooth, but would like to keep him if only till jan to see what he's made of in prem.
Thanks Jeff Aggree with you about Tarbs and keeping him till Jan at least. He may annoy me sometimes but I wouldn't argue about his contrabution to getting us up. I'm just hoping it's a young man thing and he'll grow up. (If he's still with us when that happens is for another thread me thinks.)
I heard that the photocopier at LR had broken down so they called in Bothroyd. Apparently whilst he is clubless he is doing odd jobs. He has a card in the newsagent's window. He specialises in office machine repairs. He knows exactly where to deliver a kick to get them going again. His £1000 fee was less than the cost of a new copier. They have rewritten the contract. He will be on £25,000 pw but he is also being paid £20,000pw to be in charge of all office machinery. He can't sign the contract until he has fixed the copier and Paladini can run off the correct number of copies required.

If true (and it's looking likely) you've signed a great player. I was a big fan of Bothroyd and I think he'll do a decent job in the PL, it's unfortunate it will be with you and suppose I will dislike you a little less if he does sign for you. I'm afraid he does fall over rather easily, which is frustrating! Also, he can appear a little lazy at times but despite these flaws he's quick, decent in the air, good feet and he score a screamer or two.
According to the Evening Standard( if you believe anything in the press) Bothroyd has agreed terms, and a bid is in for DJ Campbell
