Scoring 13 in around 30 odd games isn't a great season. Scoring 10 goals in the league last year isn't a great season.
442 diamond which was so successful last year. GK - Mig/Ward RB - Manquillo/Flanno/Wisdom - potentially need a new first choice? CB - Skrtel/Toure CB - Sakho/Lovren LB - Moreno - potentially need another? Someone that could do LB & RB DM - Lucas CM - Allen/Hendo CM - Can/Milner? AM - Coutinho/Ibe/Markovic/Kovacic? CF - Sturridge/Origi/Ings? CF - Benteke A couple of new signings adds decent depth to what we already have and that 442 diamond can easily switch to a 433 with Benteke as a focul point and Ibe/Origi/Markovic either side. Mig Flanno Skrtel Sakho Moreno Lucas Can Hendo Coutinho Benteke Sturridge & Ward Wisdom Toure Lovren ?? ?? Milner Allen Ibe Origi Ings
An overall 1 in 2 isn't to shabby either........................for the record I don't think he's the right player for us
Our exciting new team shall be Mingolet will win golden gloves Clyne RB Flanagan scouse cafe at lb Skrtel cb Sahko CB Kovacic playing deep lying playmaker Can btb midfield Hendo btb leader of men Coutinho floating behind Benteke #unplayable Sturridge fit again
During the summer we will probably be linked with some outstanding players who have already established themselves in European leagues, as has happened in the past. This time , however, I believe we will play our cards close to our chest, and do our business in private, the first we will know about any signings is when there is a press conference when we will reveal our latest signings, and the media will be amazed and say with one voice "Who the f**k is that"
Mingolet Clyne skertl sahko flanagan Kovacic Can henderson Coutinho Benteke sturridge Bench: loris, moreno, lovern, Lucas, Milner, ibe, origi #worldclass
Agree on the forests although I will point out that both Studge and Origi can pay as wide forwards too
Going off today's game Benteke would be perfect for us as he is useless at defending set pieces so will fit right in.
Aubamayang should be number 1 target for the forwards.. Another goal in cup final today. Quick, good movement, good finishing. Certainly fits the bill but Dortmund saying only 1 player will leave and confirming its gundagan might not help
Benteke was Benteke today. Nothing new. Very interesting developments re. Rodgers. Jonathan Northcroft (The Times) published an article this evening, and is the first indication that FSG are looking beyond Rodgers: - LFC are exploring alternatives to Rodgers. But it is thought he still has a significant chance of remaining in charge. - A process is underway of examining the availability and credentials of other candidates. - Klopp is favourite to be offered the job if LFC decide to make a change. - LFC are pressing ahead with the attempts to sign Benteke, Ings, Milner and Clyne - all favoured by Rodgers. --------------------- Quite a few conflicts in there, but as I say, he's the first reliable journo to come out and say we're looking at other managers.
By that I take it you mean ineffective when the midfield kept running into blind ally`s and failing to get the ball to him?
More of a case of when he did get the ball, he couldn't do anything because he has a poor touch, and he couldn't compete for high balls/crosses against competent defenders.
Klopp only wants to kop it if they change their transfer policy. I think he wants total control over transfer. Negotiations between Liverpool and Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich to sign unsettled forward Raheem Sterling, 20, appear to have broken down. (Bild - in German) Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet wants the club to bolster the Belgian contingent at Anfield by signing Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke, 24. (Liverpool Echo) Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood plans summer clear-out with some players already told they are leaving in transfer window Aston Villa were beaten 4-0 by Arsenal in the FA Cup final at Wembley Manager Tim Sherwood admitted to feeling sick after huge defeat Former Tottenham boss is already planning a summer squad clear-out Shay Given, Alan Hutton and Joe Cole among those facing the chop : http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3104126/Aston-Villa-manager-Tim-Sherwood-plans-summer-clear-players-told-leaving-transfer-window.html#ixzz3bfveDIlv Liverpool's James Milner move on the rocks due to doubts over Brendan Rodgers' Anfield future http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpools-james-milner-move-rocks-5791233 Liverpool will have to pay around £15million if they want to sign Southampton right-back Nathaniel Clyne. In BBC Sport Gossip.... http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/gossip/ The back page of the Sunday Telegraph Bayern's failed attempt to sign Sterling suggests Chelsea and Real Madrid will have to fight each other over the signing of the England international. (Sunday Express) Liverpool are exploring alternatives to Brendan Rodgers, in case the Reds' boss fails to convince owners Fenway Sports Group at his end-of-season appraisal that the club is progressing under his management. (Sunday Times - subscription required) Sterling will stay at Anfield if outgoing Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp lands the Liverpool job. (Sun on Sunday - subscription required) ************************************************ So now it's looking like Sterling doesn't want Rodgers. I think it's going crazy at the minute. Sterling is not popular with fans. I don't think he'll be popular with Klopp. Unless Klopp has already contacted Sterling. It's all hinging on the early June meeting. Hope Rodgers can do a good powerpoint. I want him to stay to at least prove last season's miraculous performances were not a fluke.
