i'm a complete saddo but had the canada v england womans game on for last 20 mins it's awful.. it's just long ball after long ball, their decision making is ridiculous, they never try and keep possession, just fire long balls over and over.. what are the coaches coaching? it's **** to watch
Watch the u20 World Cup, pregame is on right now. They had girls in bikinis out there. It's Ukraine vs New Zealand.
im disappointed in england everytime they got the ball, i was thinking, pass that way, its simple.. and they do a stupid long ball and lose it.. even when they had a throw in deep in their own half, two players in space, they throw it long to two players marked by 3 players.. and they give away a freekick it's not even the quality of football. the decision making is just shambolic i didn't see a single goal attempt in 35 minutes..
England womens are always frustrating to watch, the tactics tonight were atrocious, I think the new coach is just content for us to sit deep and maybe sneak a goal. Nothing sad about enjoying the womens game either, it's a nice change from watching the diving cheating gits we see at the KC every few weeks, a pure game of football usually
Apparently the new FIFA game will have female players in it. That'll help make the women's game a lot more high profile if kids are playing as Eniola Aluko or whoever.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goodison_Park#Goodison_Park_as_host_stadium_for_football On 26 December 1920, Goodison Park hosted a match between; Dick, Kerr's Ladies & St Helens Ladies. An estimated 53,000 attended the match,[84] at a time when the average gate at Goodison Park in 1919–20 was near 29,000.[85] Dick, Kerr's Ladies won 4–0. More than £3,000 was raised for charity. Shortly after, the Football Association banned women's football. The reasons given by the F.A. were not substantial and it is perceived by some that the women's teams were a threat to the men's game.[86] The ban was lifted in 1970.
With the fuss over a woman running the line at some games I not surprised at the p*ss taking on this thread but Gawge's entry gave a bit of balance at least. And having watched some games on TV this year how some of you have the nerve to have a go at womens football (or soccer if you like) is beyond belief. I don't remember a woman footballer taking a chunk out of anyone through biting them (I thought that was a woman's preserve) and by the way some of the guys preen themselves on the pitch its enough to make a woman squirm. Get used to it guys, women play football, rugby, cricket they referee snooker, pool, and constantly break records in athletics and swimming, it seems by comments about the men's games on these threads shows that maybe a woman ref and linesman (woman) should be tried out at some stage as male officials don't seem up to the job according to some posters.
I don't see any correlation between thinking women's football isn't a very good spectacle and a woman officiating at a football match, they're two completely different things. The woman lino has always seemed to do a decent job to me, but I found the last Women's World Cup to be really poor quality football, laughably poor in parts. I'm sure it will improve as the women's game grows, but at the moment it really isn't very good. I'm also not sure it's very accurate to claim that all the ladies are lovely people, this woman seems to think football and boxing are the same sport... And here's a nice straight red tackle in the Womens World Cup...
