Hull City fans praised as football banning orders at a 13-year low please log in to view this image FOOTBALL banning orders among Hull City fans are at a 13-year low, with just 30 now issued. Humberside Police has hailed the behaviour of Tigers supporters despite a disappointing season, which saw the club relegated from the Premier League. Only three football banning orders were issued over the whole season, while nine expired. Football liaison officer Karl Corcoran said: "While the team has struggled, off the pitch it has been a success. We now have just 30 banning orders in place, which is the lowest number since I started in this area 13 years ago. "About 250,000 fans have come through the turnstiles at the KC Stadium this season and the number of arrests has been very small. "The lack of trouble shows this has worked but we also have to give credit to the fans who have behaved so well despite a tough season." Fans' behaviour can also affect the club's finances, PC Corcoran said. He said: "There can be anything up to 100 police officers at a high-risk game paid for by the club. "Our aim is always to have as few police officers as possible at a game. "This also helps the club, which can use the money saved for other things. "Next season we expect there will be one or two games where there will be zero officers, and the match will be policed by the club's stewards." Banning orders, which can last three to ten years, are issued by the courts after a conviction for a football-related offence or after a complaint by the police force. PC Corcoran said: "Most of those who return from bans haven't reoffended. No one wants to be prevented supporting their team for three years." PC Corcoran accepts there will be different challenges now Hull City are in the Championship. He said: "There will be more Yorkshire derbies, which can be a bit more passionate. Perhaps old rivalries will be renewed. "We often decide how to police games based on past history. "So you may get a big game against Arsenal that doesn't need much policing, while a game against a smaller team may have a checkered past so it might require more." Hull City has welcomed the latest figures. Marketing and communications manager James Mooney said: "Our supporters have proved on various occasions that, while they are vocal and lively, they are also respectful and well behaved. "The reaction from the fans following relegation on Sunday showed just how good they are. "We are looking forward to the Yorkshire derbies next season and just as the fans showed at Huddersfield in March 2013, we are sure they will represent our club in an excellent fashion." http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Hull...tory-26591731-detail/story.html#ixzz3bWWnR8ZQ
I don't need the Police to ban me. At £530+ a pass I will ban myself. What a f*****g liberty. allam out
How many of these were from the Millwall match. The game they failed to nick any of the scum Millwall fans?
"About 250,000 fans have come through the turnstiles at the KC Stadium this season and the number of arrests has been very small." that'll be 447,584 for the league games and 39,305 for two europa cup games. total 486,889. typical rugby twat, massively underestimating the total. anyone who can't multiply 20 by 24k for an estimate of 480k for the season should be in a job where low brain power is required. such as policing.
Yeah he totally underestimates our support, add to that the trips in to Europe and the 2 games at Wembley.
Good to see them not over policing and keeping seeing as there is so little need for them in the ground. How do Arsenal manage with so few coppers on display for 60,000 with less segregation? Or Man Utd and a host of other clubs with far larger crowds than ours? please log in to view this image
He knows that, he's saying what sort of a dipshit can't manage to multiply 20 by 24 to check they're in the right ball park.
He's refering to low banning orders and linking it to home attendance only, City fans can get banning orders from away games, and I thought it worth mentioning the mass support at Wembley. Corcoran also refers to the return of Yorkshire derbies as risk matches, we played one last summer at Wembley against an old enemy in front of 71,820, less arrests then ladies day at Beverley! Hope this helps.
Well obviously ffs. We have proper fans, not the plastic tourists they have. Proper fans like a bit of aggro dont they?
Arsenal and the like have priced your run of the mill commoner/ football hooligan out of the equation. Therefore less aggro and less plod. Not rocket science is it?
Still plenty of cockney loadsa money hoolijolly boy types travel north with West Ham and Millwall waving their wads and singing we pay your benefits.
