Now can we please organise a pre-season against clubs we have actually heard of this time?

Quite refreshing stuff. And hopefully will build some confidence that these blokes know enough about the lower leagues to do some good business (I had my doubts) and build a squad that they can develop.

Where do you stand on a season ticket Col? I was in the absolutely not camp, but the prices have taken me by surprise......

I wasn't going to renew whatever league we were in mate, but I must admit that the prices are very tempting.

Agree, especially on the Strikers. I'd like to see us bring in a forward with pace/work rate to give us another dimension. Some pace out wide wouldn't hurt either.

Defence is interesting as much depends on who we retain out of Onouha/Caulker. We've got an experienced Championship LB in Jack Robinson already who also happens to be young as well for an added bonus. Sooner he's back fit the better.
I'd like to see an experienced RB to come in for 1/2 seasons whilst Furlong is integrated at the appropriate times to develop properly.

The sort of defender i'd like to sign is Adrian Mariappa. Played 12 times for Palace last year, entering the last year of his contract. We could get him on the cheap and he knows the Championship very well.

Could be a very good signing for us.

And while we're in contact with Swindon why not try and get Nathan Byrne as well. He was in my opinion along with Ben Gladwin their standout performer during the play offs. Full back/wing back/winger and with a Spurs past (2008-2013) he could fit the bill. Also 22 years old and could be the best full back in the Championship in no time. His record at Swindon after he joined permanently reads 78 games played, 8 goals scored plus he has 39 games out on loan while at Spurs. Quite a lot of games for such a young lad, got experience already.

Very encouraged by all of this but there's a lot still to be done. Can't fault the decisive action so far.

What I'd like to know is if Spurs get 50% of Luongo's transfer fee, what is to stop Swindon and us saying that we paid 3,999,999 for Goodwin and £1 for Luongo?

While I agree with you on how good he is, I can't see us going in for a right back as young as him when we have Darnell on the books who we need to nurture gradually.

I wouldn't think so. We had a similar situation here in Norway a couple of years ago. To prevent having to play the French club they bought him from in full what they would owe from a future sale they threw in a youngster in the deal and put most of the fee on his contract. To make a long story short it went all the way to the high courts resulting in jail time for officials from both clubs. Hopefully we're not that stupid.
