Game 1 of State Of Origin. Queensland go in as favourites against the cockroaches from south of the border. It'll be played in their back yard, so they'll take some beating. At about a buck seventy, we're in it up to our eyebrows. We have not had a decent punch up for a while, it's about time some blood ran. The game is getting soft. Back in the late 90s a NSW player Andrew Johns had his face torn open in a fight, he needed 27 stitches at half time. His coach told him not to be such a weak c**t and get out and play some f***in' football. :) The maroons had the habit of geeing each other up by shouting "Queenslander." The NSW coach Tom Roudonikis told his boys to smash the first maroon to yell "Queenslander." He devised a rally call, "Cattledog." It was a signal to turn on a blue. Maroon coach Paul "Fatty" Vautin got wind of it and asked who's be prepared to make the yell. All 17 players raised their arms. A fight occurred 5 minutes in, then 3 minutes later as a scrum packed down, someone yelled "Queenslander" and Spud Carroll exploded into action. Roudonikis on the sideline was into his "Cattledog, cattledog, cattledog......"

Love this competition, unfortunately it's now shown on Premier sports in the UK which is yet another subscription channel and I pay enough for sky as it is! Was surprised when sky lost the rights to it. I should be able to download the game afterwards so should still be able to watch it though.

I sit firmly in the Queensland camp and hope they smash NSW

Don't think tomorrow is a particularly good day's racing but Hamilton is more or less my local racecourse so I like to have a look and try to pick a few out.

2:40 - Economic Crisis 7/1. Loves it round Hamilton, all 6 of her career wins are at Hamilton. She ran ok lto in a better race than this, also running under a penalty for a previous win. Hopefully being back at Hamilton will mean another win!

4:50 - Latin Rebel 8/1. Was 2nd over C&D at the start of the month and is racing off the same mark in this. He's also receiving weight to the whole field, could take advantage of that.

Also, Great Fun is due to run at Kempton tomorrow night. I've tipped him on here the last two times he's been due to run but has been pulled out the race, if he runs tomorrow I'll likely put something on him again.

    9.10 Kempton- Fredric Chopin

Big fan of this horse his only run at 2m was a win at Goodwood then was placed over 1m6f at the same track a couple of weeks ago, looks very unexposed at this distance and has the abilty to improve again!

Bang On Time 10/3 Newton Abbot 6:30 carries a 7 lb penalty for his 26 length win last time and the manner of that victory suggests he still might be ahead of the handicapper, with Mr P John taking a handy 7 off his back, I'd expect him to follow up.

Serefeli 11/10 Gowran 7:20 won by 0.5L on debut to Jim Bolgers Just Be Lucky who has ran 3rd twice since, the 8th that day of Serefeli's victory Whatsforyouwontgobyyou has since come out and won though solidifying the form somewhat.

Buyer Beware is also 1 from 1 and is hard to assess yet, Bolgers Ringside Humour may prove the biggest danger but with the form of the Weld yard and natural progression I'd expect Serefeli to take this.

A few more today to avoid as I'm on these.

2.30 Thirsk. With a big bias favouring high drawn runners I'm going for the one drawn highest in 20 HUGIE BOY. Came 4th lto beaten 8l to EXCILLY who won again yesterday. Can bag the rail as the one drawn 19 likes to be held up.
5.15 Thirsk. SEE VERMONT is 2/3 and expect him to go in again over this extra furlong.
4.15 Ham. LIL SOPHELLA. Quick reappearance following a nose defeat 5 days ago.
6.00 New Abb. Once again we see a Nicky Henderson odds on shot which I believe like many others over the last few weeks can be beaten. Therefore I'll be on Nicholls MORE BUCKS to hopefully live up to his name and win me more bucks.

Will anybody be steaming into the 1/2 available for Sir Isaac Newton this evening at Gowran? Should be a point and shoot opportunity really!

Cheers Attivo, even better as I had it at 11s. Gutted thought Lil Sophella was going to win there before being taken across the track.

Well done all other winners. Fabio the only reason your horse lost yesterday was because I backed it having seen what great form your in and left today's selection alone.

Cheers guys, my other one at Hamilton finished 2nd but didn't have it e/w. More than happy with my winner though.

The other one I mentioned, Great Fun, finally looks like he'll be running tonight at Kempton. I'll have a few pennies on him at 5/1.
