I hope they keep Chester, players like him aren't ten a penny, he has everything defending apart from being on the small side. His distribution is OK anyway

    In a word, no.

We have a wage bill close to £55m, the TV income is about £65m, we had money committed from last seasons spending(as Obi mentioned) and we've left ourselves another £25m to find from this seasons spending.

Even if every single players wages halved(and they won't), the wage bill alone would still be more than the total parachute payments.

Our financial situation is certainly better than last time(ignoring the debt level), but balancing the books will still involve getting fees for some players and further reducing the wage bill. That is unless Allam fancies throwing a load more money at it, which I doubt.

He can't even do that since the maximum permittable loss is 3m and owner equity injected is capped at something like 2m. Which I personally think is ridiculous for the record but there you go.

The permissible loss in the Championship is £8m.

I think that's changing from next season though? Or next season is the last before the change. I'm a little unclear.

Don't need to cash in John. The wage bill comes down anyway with the relegation clauses. Norwich have shown the way this season.

But lets try to go up as champions as we have done 2nd and Wembley play offs.

I don't doubt that all the available evidence at present reveals what you've just said, but I can't believe that's the case in reality. That's a big gamble and leaves us, potentially, in a worse position than our last relegation. Ok, we have younger and better players this time, but it will still take bids for them to leave.

Are we going to start accepting silly low figures late in the window as we're desperate for cash and trying to avoid winding up? If the picture is as you say, were in a position where we need to sell, but all our selling won't put money in the bank per se, it will go straight out to creditors, and we'll be left with half a squad and no money to replace them.

Another season of James Harpers, Paul McKennas, Rowan Vines leading our deadly attack then?

Allam is far more financially stable than Bartlett, I don't think they'll accept any silly offers, it will be manageable.

That's what I was thinking. Does this relate to the last season QPR had in the Championship?
