Anyone pick up on the lack of celebration by Fletch when he scored? maybe reading into it too much but normally a player would be made up to bang one in against the champs especially as it was taking the lead.
Central defenders, JOS had one of his off days yesterday, playing two massive games in so short a space of time proved a bridge to far (pun), as has been mentioned before on this site Coates and van Dyke with JOS or Rodders as back up would be fine, and I would add Wes and Santi to the mix if expense allowed, this would give us CD and full back cover options for next season. Our attacking options are more in need of strengthening by bringing in at least three top performers and moving at least three out.
It was a nothing goal in a meaningless game. The team didnt celebrate generally. Commentators really pissed me off. Restored some semblance e if realism to the score line with the penalty! It was their second shot on target after we'd scored and their keeper had made 3 other saves! Pricks
I got the impression it was just the knowledge that when you take an early lead against Chelsea it's probably not going to last so no point celebrating much. Plus I think that Fletcher fancies himself as too cool to show much emotion.
A very strange game all round, it seemed to be more like a testimonial game, then again I can't remember seeing anyone carried off the pitch by his team mates the way Drogba was - even in a testimonial. Just bizarre that was. I think Fletcher was just playing it cool - yeah I've got a Lamborghini Aventador - Meh please log in to view this image
don'tknow what happened to the last post. Was just going to say that Drogba is now an official Chelsea legend because he scored the winning penalty what give Chelsea the Euro cup. Got to be celebrated in some way even if it is playground stuff.
