Soon as you can (if you decide to go to uni/college) get a Natwest student account and a free Railcard...its a 3rd off. Saved me so much money when I went to Leeds Uni, tickets for like 7 quid.

From Kendal to Newcastle. Not sure which games yet, but I'm hoping to come up a bit more than I did last year!

I've always used EastCoast.co.uk, they don't charge any booking fees and they also have a really good way of finding the cheapest available tickets.

I always use national rail, just because I find the site easy to use. Heard Trainline is cheaper though, but I can never be bothered to switch.

God, I wish! As Leazes said though, only a couple of quid difference I think.

Trainline is actually pretty ****, tends to miss out on the eastcoast/national rail promotions, which are near constant.

Try and book up as early as you can mate, also if you are going to a place where there is more than one station try both stations.
Example I went to Edinburgh a couple of staurdays backs, the main station is Waverley street but the stop after that is Haymarket (2 minutes down the line) saved me about £10 by go to Haymarket!!!!

Kendal I imagine you'll have to go to Carlisle then change and come across from there?
Might be worth seeing how much it is to get off at the metro centre and get a bus into town, might work out cheaper.

East Coast are generally cheaper than National Rail, mate saved a tenner from Colchester to Leeds for this Friday just switching websites!
Also everyone probably knows this, but it's well worth getting a 16-25 railcard even if you only use it 2 or 3 times a year it'll pay for itself.

Yeah change at Carlisle. Two and a half hours there and two and a half hours back. I don't have any Newcastle supporting friends in Kendal, so I don't come up often.
