i feel good about life, so we got relegated, big deal, theres plenty of things in life that are much worse. We have some nice games to look forward to next season, The white ****e obviously, Wolves, Derby, Wendies, Forest, Bolton, Bristol City, a chance to catch up with former foes and rivals, chew the cud a bit, and dare to dream again (or is it a nightmare). Does this make us an official YOYO club now, up down up down, 2 complete cycles must surely qulify us ? will i miss the big boys league ?...no i dont think i will, yes its supposed to be the greatest league in the world, although i think the only true claim is it is the best league in the world for paying extorniate wages for average players and draining a clubs resources, certainly not the best from a supporter spectacle. I think the league we are going into trounces the Premiership for the closeness and excitement of the matches, plus the atmosphere from the fans, so no the Prem is definetely not the best league in the world. I actually feel a sense of relief to be honest, now the pressure is off the club to spend spend spend, we can trim our playing staff, hopefully use the parachute payments to steady the club and invest in some new blood to freshen things up, do i care if we get promoted ? If it happens it happens, if it doesnt it's no biggie, we still have the KC Stadium and we still have Hull City no matter where or who we play.
Well said..... That pretty much sums up how I feel. My main priority right now is getting over this awful hangover!!
The away games are a massive bonus next season especially with the rip off season tickets at home. You forgot Rotherham as well!
It's all part of being a football fan. You go up, you go down. Highs and lows. Handling the 'highs' is easy, anyone can do that. It's the low points that define the sort of fan you are.
This morning I will mainly be reading inspirational poetry. (Whilst dealing with a pig of a hangover). If you can dream—and not make dreams your master; If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim; If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster And treat those two impostors just the same; If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools, Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken, And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools: Time to see if our owners, management and players are Men, my son.
If you can make one heap of all your winnings And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss, And lose, and start again at your beginnings And never breathe a word about your loss;
I am down, but as I say to my colleagues over here it is part and parcel of being a City supporter.I made sure last year I came to watch my first Premier league game as I wasn't entirely confident I would see them in the Premier League next year.Anyway I will be back at Easter so hopefully we will be in a good position again.City are my lifeline.I have kept my views to myself re the Allams but I hope they sell now and remove themselves from being involved in the club.They do not really know the ins and outs and it is insulting to call us irrelevant.Thanks but you have done untold damage to the fabric of the club. Anyway City will always be my City and though I now live thousands of miles away they will never take the Hull out of me. So have faith again.
We were never going to be in the PL forever, neither will 2/3 of the bottom half of that league. The money isn't as good, but half the fun of the Premier League is getting there.
**** you Miff. That's pretty much word for word the thread I was going to make today. I don't think we feel any of the entitlement to be in the PL that other clubs do so we can deal with it more rationally. I@m looking forwards to the games next season too. The week of meltdowns we'll see on here prior to playing MK Dons. TWS. Derby, Yeah, should be fun. Maybe people will stop obsessing about the PL and so called spectators not fans, plastics v supporters, or maybe not. Allams staying, Brucie staying, couple of extra games, maybe a cup run or two, yeah, it's all good.
Hull City is the best club in the world. I love being a supporter and I love everyone who supports my team. I'm City 'til I die.
If i'm being honest I've preferred Championship life to life in the Premier league. No one wants their team to lose and obviously I didn't want us to go down. But it took me all of 5 minutes to get over it and started thinking of the potential of an exciting season instead of another season scrapping. Looking forward to next year!
Although the standard is obviously much worse, the Championship is also a much better league to follow as a fan.
I feel a little better already although ive got that horrible sinking feeling in my stomach, the championship is a great league to play in as long as we are competing at the right end of the table there is some big clubs in there lets all enjoy the rest I will still be on holiday with my city shirt on proud to be from this city supportimg Hull City.
