I think we'll have the same problem next season as this (and all the others), ie no strikers. One way or the other they'll all go, possibly with the exception of Aluko who we won't be able to get shot of.
Sadly the players we'd hope stay are either.... out of contract: McShane, Quinn, Rosenior... Will get bids for: Brady, Chester, Elmo, Robertson, Jelavic... Or are on the naughty step: Davies, McGregor... That means the only player who will fight in the Championship and be happy to stay is Meyler. The rest will be here, but won't want to be.
Aluko will be excellent in the Championship, Very disappointing day today, the fans in the ground backing Bruce still, on balance would rather keep him in the job than Allardyce who might have relegated us by giving West Ham a premature holiday. Mcshane took on a god like legend status today at the KC, at least we have a few real men like Him Meyler and Quinny to fight for us in the Championship. Hernandez came over to us when he was a sub, all the other players acknowledged the fans, he didn't even look at us, hope the door hits his arse on the way out the mercenary twat
People saying all these players can go, how much for? Who do we replace them with? As mentioned about Hernandez, it's all well and good flogging them all for peanuts because they've had a bad season, but then we're left with what? These are all good players and if Bruce wasn't so scared of losing, if he was a little braver and let them go out and play like today, we probably wouldn't be in this mess. He'd surely have that bravery to let the team attack in the championship. The squad is here ready built and the more of them we can keep the better, the understanding they have from playing and training together can't be bought and wholesale changes will bring a prolonged stale period where the football is total ****e. Funny how McShane seems to be on everyone's keep list, 5 years ago he was the first player we all wanted out the door. Form is temporary, class is permanent.
Jela, Brady and Chester are the players we want to keep that I expect to be the subject of decent bids, probably Robertson as well. I think Jela and Chester will want to move as they are easily good enough for the prem. Hoping we keep as many of the hard working players like Brady/Chester/Meyler/Quinn etc. and come straight back up. It's so important with the new TV deal that we get up before the gap between divisions gets bigger.
Looks like an overhaul to me.... Outs Jelavic - The player I will be most sad to see go, but he is a proven Premier League goalscorer and there will be bids N'Doye - Has shown enough for the likes of Sunderland/Crystal Palace to take a punt on. Huddlestone - Leicester/Villa/Sunderland would all take a punt. Could not motivate himself to play for a bottom 10 club in the Premier League, never mind Championship football so it is best for all parties if he leaves. Chester - Villa and West Brom already declared their interest. Can probably add Leicester to that now Has been a good servant to the club and can go progress his Premier League career with my blessing as long as we don't sell him on the cheap. Livermore - What to do? If we sack him, there will be plenty of clubs lining up to take him on a free, if we demand a fee, we will probably struggle to get £2M out of the likes of Villa. Personally I think he should be made an example of and sacked. Davies - Will probably be gone as he wasn't happy with the salary deal he was on to start with. A real shame that jealousy over money has harmed his status as a City hero. Robertson - Will go if a top 10 club want to pay £8M+ for him. Can't see it myself. Dudgeon, Figgie, Sagbo, Jakapovic - Will be released Macca - Looked to me like he was saying his goodbyes at the end of the game. Harper - Will probably retire Keep At All Costs McGregor, Elmo, Meyler, Brady, Aluko, Quinn - Will all shine at Championship level. Dawson - has more or less just confirmed on RH that he wants to stay and get us back up. Will depend on how high his wages were and whether he agreed to said relegation clause (remember it took weeks to get the deal over the line) Maguire and Lenihan - But only if they are going to be given game time. Stuck With... Snodgrass and Diame - Unlikely anyone will come in for them before the window closes in September as they will unlikely have had time to prove their full recoveries from injury. We should use this to our advantage (as long as they are not long-term crocks of course) Hernandez - Still think there is a good player in there somewhere but no-chance of re-couping our investment. Best hope is a season long loan back to Italy with something about leading to a permanent deal bases on appearances. Alex Bruce - Lets face it, he ain't going anywhere with Bruce Senior at the helm. It is a worry though. Clearly Alex isn't close to many of the players though otherwise Bruce Senior would have got to have known about the Livermore issue long before he was told by the FA.
Two players not mentioned so far. Dudgeon & Lenihan. Dudgeon did well for us last time in the Championship until he got injured. he appears not to have recaptured that form but he could it back given a chance. Lenihan is one for the future. i know he got a bad injury while out on loan. Does anyone have an update
I wouldn't be surprised if Quinn followed him out. For those interested its all in Roy Keene's Second Half.
Name and shame all those millionaire mercenaries who don't give a **** and let us down.... Livermore, Huddlestone, McGregor can **** off for starters and I'll buy a one way ticket for Hernandez myself. The likes of Robbo will be snapped up asap. If the Irish lads stay then we might just have a go next season, but I for one do not expect a swift return to the prem.
I can't see McShane, Quinn and Rosenior signing new contracts (Rosenior might if he's guaranteed game time), Snodgrass and Diame will probably stay (at least until January) as they'll need to get fit for a move. Chester will go to Swansea, Jelavic will easily find a new club (I wish he wouldn't but he will). I agree with past posts about N'Doye and Hernandez, unless some European club comes in for them, I'd keep them, they now know what English football is all about. You'd be looking at anywhere between 7-10M each to replace them with other forwards, even in the Championship. Ince will probably stay as he'll get game time, I'd like to think Dawson would stay as well. All the others people have said will leave I agree they probably would. I'd like to see: McGregor Rosenior, Dawson, Maguire, AN Other Ince, Meyler, Diame, Snodgrass N'Doye, Hernandez Subs: Whatever's left, hopefully blood some of the youngsters And there is also the option of the stupid amount of loan players you can get in the Championship. I can also see Bruce leaving and Phelan getting the job
As much as I've got a lot of time for Bruce, he's taken a team, down again...Too many dropped points from winning positions when he was not able to change the game.....Time to move on Steve...Mark Warburton would be a decent choice if he's up for coming to Hull.
Forgot about Diame and Snodgrass who both won't be leaving as no team are going to buy injured players. Diame especially will be different class in the Championship.
Mcshane is one of the few that have stepped up, the response he got today off the fans was as good as I've ever seen any Hull City player get. Hernandez can get the next ticket back to wherever he came from, I don't agree with your comments about him, he is a disgrace
These two will light up that league, things aren't as bleak as they seem as we can ship out all the deadwood and still have a few diamonds left
Who thinks we'll play Ince? Who thinks we'll sell? Dudgeon and Lenihan are two others who can come into the side.
