Well said. This is how scousers are, we can't help all the sentimentality, it's bred unto us. Maybe it does hold you back but it still doesn't explain the mysterious workings of the transfer committee .....

In the category of Most Accurate Reflection of Reality <ok>

Another nomination is Quickest U-Turn, for which I nominate @Tobes

Nearly 2 months separated those posts you ****ing tool, in which time he'd turned it around and fair play to him for doing so.

Your constant delusion level being off the scale means that you can never challenge anything kopite related as the garden's always rosey in your kopite cranium.

So how come no "things aren't so bad now" or "he's winning me over" posts?

A bit of realism you say. This board's been brimming over with whinging and whining all season about the 'reality' of the situation. We need to remind some just how far we have come from being on the brink of administration. We've got a long way to go and each year the gap grows wider. We'll never be completely happy until we win the league but why knock optimism?

It was just for astro then. But my comment still holds, why knock optimism? Especially when we're drowning on here in a sea a pessimism mostly from wums who look for the worst in every situation but our own as well. If you don't like astro there's an easy way to avoid him - Masochists the lot of you <laugh>

I didn't disagree with anything he said.

We are miles behind and there is evidence everywhere.

We are a tired old club trying to compete with the best and failing.

Ideally we could combine the qualities of the City with a clear focus on the future.

We do look back more than we do forward because we look back to better times. It's human nature.

With the current set up its difficult to see where we go from here.

Neville's right. The big 3 in England are Us, Chelsea and City. Liverpool and United are boring history clubs who'll just fight for top 4 every season whilst we challenge for trophies <rofl>

Most of them TBH. Look at what Southampton have achieved since they left administration. All that Liverpool have "achieved" since FSG have taken over would be impressive at a small time club at a low cost however Liverpool ain't small time and are one of the league's hugest spenders and have been for some time.

    I stated facts.

In contrast most of the negative whinging on here is just speculation.

They are facts, but you are overestimating the importance of them.

Like who cares about number of semi-finals reached? All that says to me is that 3 times we've not been good enough to actually win something due to our inability to get results when it matters most.

You're definitely a glass is half full type of fan when it comes to your own team (probably "completely full" <laugh> ) and I'm not just talking about this thread. You never seem to think anything is wrong, which while admirable, is also settling for mediocrity/status quo. It is ok to accept things are wrong and hold ppl to account now and again.

As the saying goes astro, in this modern era of football... if you always do what you've always done you'll always get what you've always got...which for a club like LFC is underachievement.

I have never settled for anything, and don't consider everything perfect

I recognised that last season was overachieving, and even without Suarez leaving the extra demands of CL would make us fall back in the league

Last season our only available sub was Coutinho for Sterling (whichever way round they started). We desperately needed depth

Given that, an effective net spend of £28m in summer was never going to allow the strength and depth to compete on multiple fronts

Sturridge's injury almost killed our season. Rodgers yet again found a system to have us challenging for 4th when we had no right to. Morons are too busy rehashing boring Brent jokes to give him any tactical credit. He's competing with managers whose answer to every single problem is a chequebook, and they still **** up more often than not.

For all the money and talent Mourinho still needs to deliberately injure opponents, whinge like a little bitch, and play boring as **** football with one of the most creative squads in the world, relying on 1-0 from a Hazard dive. Wenger has been in charge for a million years and still can't work out how to play a full season. Pellegrini just spends money and when that doesn't work he has no answers and his team collapses. Van Gaal spent an embarrassing amount of money just to come to the answers of hoof to Fellaini or hope Mata does something good.
