Not sure as vergini was talking in that way when interviewed mate. The contract was agreed, pending number of performances, including the wages. I only think it's illegal to a contracted player playing at their own club. I think it's different for a player loaned out. Contract and fee have to be agreed otherwise clauses cannot be put into place? Just the way I heard Vergini on the radio talking about it. Not gospel mind
I was led to believe the loan for Alvarez was only sanctioned,on the grounds that. If we stay up we must buy him....??????????!
When did you hear this about Vergini? He's over 23 and in his last year, he was free to sign a pre agreement as soon as he went into his last 6 months Under 23s who are going out of contract can't negotiate with a new club until their present one expires, over 23s in the last year can sign a pre agreement when they go into their last 6 months. Players over 23 with more than 6 months on their contract(Like Alvarez) can't sign a pre agreement at all as they're under contract. Those are the rules 100%. It's nowt but a normal overseas loan with more loopholes than a Saul Goodman contract, these loopholes(like not meeting the players demands to force the deal to break through) are why overseas loans rarely lead to permanent transfer despite every single one of them containing a purchase agreement.
RICKY ALVAREZ will not be joining Sunderland this summer even though Premier League status has been secured. It has been widely reported that the 26-year-old’s unsuccessful season-long loan would automatically become permanent if the Black Cats stayed up for a fee in the region of £7.5m. But The Northern Echo understands there were clauses in the deal – thought to have been on appearances – which allowed the full-time transfer to be abandoned. And now Alvarez, who has not featured since he was dragged off during the 4-0 defeat at home to Aston Villa, is set to return to Inter Milan after failing to impress Sunderland’s decision makers. The Black Cats have made up their mind that they will not be pushing through an expensive deal for the Argentine regardless of who is in charge, with Dick Advocaat set to confirm a decision on his future after Sunday’s final game at Chelsea. Alvarez, who has cost Sunderland a £1m loan fee so far, moved to Inter Milan with a big reputation after impressing for Velez Sarfield. He has, though, struggled to adapt to the pace of the Premier League, despite the fact Gus Poyet had expected him to be a key figure this season. He has missed the last few weeks because of an apparent knee problem, but the fact he has made just five Premier League starts all season highlights why Sunderland are willing to let him return to Italy without fuss.
It was before Christmas mate. He definitely made out like it was agreed at the time of the loan! Just the way I heard it.
Impossible fella. He may have agreed terms in principle but nothing remotely legally binding like a pre agreement. The rules are clear on that one. All in the fa handbook. Big question is did Vergini sign a pre agreement once he entered the last 6 months? Hope not.
No club would be stupid enough to sign terms to pay a certain amount for a certain player a year ahead like has been reported. The guy could have been Milton Nunez bad in England and we'd have had to sign him. It was idiotic reporting at the time.
Agreed. I think it's nowt more than a bog standard overseas loan with the compulsory future fee stipulation. An agreement which has it's loopholes exploited by everyone under sun. I mean, if it was compulsory(take it we're talking about Ricky) why would we have tried to negotiate the price after Christmas? if it is what the media say it is, surely there's no room for renegotiation at all. It's bollocks init.
Translated:- Roberto Mancini spoke at a press conference ahead of the match against Genoa scheduled for tomorrow evening at 20.45 at the stadium 'Luigi Ferraris'. Here is the third and final part. SANTON - "David has made a series of beautiful games, then had a physical decline was notable because of an injury 10 months and this has meant that it is not in great shape. You could also play, we'll see how you feel. " VIDIC - "Nemanja will assess him tomorrow morning, had a back problem and is still in doubt." HANDANOVIC - "If you were to leave Samir try an experienced goalkeeper and low cost, if we were to take the young ones we have already." ALVAREZ - "I do not know his situation but I think now is the Sunderland and will not return to us." SHAQIRI - "I know him well because I followed him since the days of Basel but as Santon, underwent a physical decline affected the accident prior to his arrival in Italy. For the future we count on him because he has great qualities and can do much better. "
We need pace up front....can't take a player on the outside. To me he's just a poorer version of 'Johno'. Get the ball on the right wing and cut in on left peg. Easy for a defender because you know which way he will go....we need better than this lad.
Probably because he's a slow central player. You wouldn't Ask Wes to play rb and expect him to hit the byline. Gus played Ricky out of position every single time. Just because Gus wanted him to play wide doesn't make him a wide player. This is a man who thought Vergini was a rb. Alvarez has played is most of his career as a CAM or CF.
please log in to view this image Calciomarcarto have reported today that Sunderland are refusing to make the transfer of Ricky Alvarez a permanent one despite claims by Inter Milan they have compulsory redemption on the Argentine. The player only joined the Black Cats last summer on loan but he only played a handful of games because of injury. It has been revealed in the Italian media that Sunderland must buy the midfielder outright after they avoided relegation to the Championship last week. Inter Milan have stated a clause was written into the agreement made in the last summer transfer window that if the North East side remained in the Premier League they would have to buy Alvarez for a figure between €8m to €10.5m. Sunderland aren’t too keen to make his move a permanent one for this transfer fee and are denying that such a clause was written into the deal. It is looking likely this will result in FIFA sorting out this mess, and Inter Milan are ready show football’s governing body evidence of the agreement made. Alvarez arrived at Sunderland last summer but he has only made five starts in the Premier League this season, and didn’t play under Dick Advocat because of injury. Despite this the player seems to be rated by the Sunderland coaching staff and if he can stay fit he would be a good addition to the squad, but only for the right price. Even if it's true, surely we can just offer the lad fiver a week and he won't come? Seems like a bit of a storm in a teacup imo. Unless they're saying his wages were also agreed with the original deal in which case we could be ****ed.
