I'm suggesting you misinterpreted people as being aggressive because you didn't know any better. They alnost certainly said "You're not from 'Ull" but it was likely a conversation starter from my experience.

There's no painting necessary. Your derogatory Chantelle's bairn on the bus statement and generalising about Hull folk's aggression did the painting for you. Explain how that wasn't critical...

I have nothing against the article. I found your post more insulting. I have nothing against London either, but even if I did, at least I'm not knocking the place on a London message board.

They were aggressive. It was a cobfrontational "what are you doing here?" Im not saying everyone is like this, im saying it happened to me. If you were there, youd agree.

And youre confusing comments about some people with being about the place.

They are not more welcoming at all you do not live here day in and day out you probably do not see what goes on and what these people are like, and don't tell me the people in london don't look at northerners like they are some sort of low life's because they do.

They think they are better than northerners they are arrogant rude have their heads stuck up each others arses and have no idea about life outside of london and neither do they wish to know what it is like.

That is what society is like today especially in london and i have been here 35 years ever since i left the army,i wish i was not here and was back in Hull but my children are here and my wife is buried here so i have no choice but to live with these dickheads.

I don't think you're 1000 days is enough considering it is spread out over time to make an honest assessment of what it is really like in the south, and you probably only went into the centre of london doing business whatever it is you do.

I have lived in London and hull so feel able to express my qualified opinion.

London is a stink hole. It is a blackness that slowly develops the areas around it in an all consuming wave of ****-dem.

It's dirty, over crowded, full of french people, full of rude and obnoxious mongs who believe themselves to be the cream of the British people.

I walked past a building site area one day and said 'morning' to one of the lads working - he looked like I'd shat in his open mouth. He blurted out some response and his mate from higher up on the scaffold said 'did that bloke speak to you, what did he say?' - this happened.

London people don't have time for anyone or anything other than their next mochacinno.

In summary - I'd rather be skint in hull than rich in london.

I wasn't trying to prove anything, I just thought it was funny.

That second question isn't really suggesting that I might not know what Hull is like just because I live outside the city boundary is it?

I didnt mean that at all. Why have you jumped to that conclusion? I was interested if you choose to live your life in Hull, which you've now suggested you don't. This is interesting to me that you would rather live somewhere else.

Why is it interesting that I chose to live in a village, rather than a city?

It's interesting to me that someone can be furious about any perceived slights on the people of Hull but then they choose not to live there themselves.

I didnt say it was interesting to everyone.

I have never actually lived within Hull boundaries, but if someone asks me where I am from I say Hull. Just saying like.

<laugh> I'm not furious about anything, I just think the author of that article is ****er.

I was born in Hull, it's still my home city, to suggest that should change just because I live 15 miles from the city centre is pathetic.

I didnt suggest that should change, I don't know where you got that idea. You do seem to shift discussions to try to make a point that wasnt intended. As I said, I was interested why you choose not to live in Hull.

I'd rather be poor living in the beautiful countryside than rich living in Hull's dirty urban sprawl.

    Hang him.

And did it need a face palm? There couldve been a multitude of reasons, it's really not obvious why someone could live somewhere that they love but chooses not to.
