Jose isn't wrong. The only reason why Saints fell off the fantastic level was because the squad is just a bit too thin. Morgan & Nat want to play in the CL, well stay and earn it. Plus, a couple of [maybe 3 or 4] additions to take the pressure off them and also push them all along.

If both Clyne and Schneiderlin sign new deals, Fonte deserves a knighthood.

    Sir José Fonte sounds good.

As does Lord Les and King Krueger.

I thought I couldn't love Jose more...but I was wrong. :) Clyne perhaps, but I'm pretty sure Morgan just feels he has been here too long.

Interesting that Kreuger said in an interview with NBC (see other thread) that he believes Morgan has become a better player by spending another season with us.

    Wow. That's pretty awesome.

I think this sort of thing (serious concerted effort to keep players and make them feel special/loved/whatever) was missing last summer. Obviously it's easier to do it this year because you have a bunch of examples where the grass has not been greener but this does suggest a lesson has been learned.

Well it's also easier to do when you have everyone signed up and in place for the next few years. We were still very much in transition last summer, now we're able to show 'this is who's here, this is the direction we want to go in' much easier.

But according to the papers this week Jose is off to Liverpool himself.....
Good lad Jose I think I can be more confident that this won't happen now after reading his quotes such as "the grass isn't always greener elsewhere "

You are all wrong....Fonte is a god.

The good thing about this statement is that Morgan hasn't actually signed anything (contrary to all those Arsenal rumours); the bad thing is that it suggests Clyne is still dithering. As I have little hope Morgan will stay anyway, Clyne dithering is what worries me. Les Reed needs to don a disguise and wait outside the Etihad and ask Nat for his autograph.

    Clyne will stay.

    Schneiderlin won't.

Take note Adam, this is how a captain should behave.
