If Slaviša Jokanović is waiting on Newcastle United and/or Sunderland to retain Premiership status and make him an offer we can be sure of one thing. Newcastle's offer will be excessive, far more than we could afford.
Looking at the betting ( http://www.skybet.com/football/specials/manager-specials ) Slavisa is 66-1 to go to Newcastle, 50-1 to go to Sunderland, and Watford's next manager isn't even an option. Bookies are generally pretty spot on with these things, so looks like he isn't really on the radar of either. I'm pretty confident he will sign, and the 'not being close' to signing is probably more the fact they haven't really sat round the table to discuss these things. We still seem his first choice option so think it will be more when, than if, he signs
The contract is in Watford and he is in Madrid so that is over 1000 miles away - so I'd agree with him, they are not close!

I think its more about all party's are not in the same building contracts can be faxed or even signed on line (i have done it )
Is Jokanovic being too greedy/unrealstic or are the owners being too tight? Hopefully they can come to an agreement... maybe offer a reasonable wage but with a large bonus for survival plus automatic extension of another year!
As commented elsewher there are money concerns and negotiations, to me that normally what happens. Party A wants this and party B that so they have a talk and meet somewhere in the middle. This only becomes difficult when the expectations of one party are wildly different from the other, for example party A wants a straight salary when B wants to pay a smaller salary with a bonus for achievement. Also I wouldn't be surprised if, as with all the transfer gossip, this is just that - gossip. With the Premier League's relegation issues not completely resolved perhaps SJ is waiting to see what happens and who, if anyone, makes a move on him and for how much. It's all speculation and perhaps for us this proviseds a bit of fun, but it could be a real pain for the club, SJ and the players if they do read these reports.
That's got to be complete and utter tosh! He chose to leave Brentford because he didn't want a Head Coach job. Plus he isn't good or experienced enough.
From: http://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/serie-a/udinese-heurtaux-verso-l-addio-ipotesi-watford-682541? Olympique Lyon a few days ago has moved concretely for Thomas Heurtaux , French defender Udinese . The offer of the French , however, was not considered up to standard. For the player , however , he remains standing hypothesis Watford , according to the Pozzo family club newly promoted to the Premier League . Excuse the Google translate. If standing is an hypothesis does that mean he spends most of his time on the ground?

If standing is an hypothesis does that mean he spends most of his time on the ground?[/QUOTE] Google translate is ****e, Italian seems to work the same way as Portuguese in the way words are ordered, and a lot of the words are quite similar (if not the same) too. So I came up with this, it seems to work. Udinese; Heurtaux to bid farewell, Watford assumed. A few days ago Olympique Lyon moved specifically for Thomas Heurtaux, Udinese's French defender. The offer from the French, however, was not considered high enough. For the player, however, Watford remain the assumption, second club of the Pozzo family newly promoted to the Premier League. Google translate does give alternatives, but generally translates word for word, loosing all sense of meaning and flow. It also doesn't understand phraseology or how a language is used, outside simple sentences or some obvious stock phrases. I am struggling with concretamente as the word is the same in Portugues and translates loosely as specially or specifically, although espacificamente does that job better.
Just tweeted by Jon Marks #watfordfc in negotiations with #cpfc to sign Guedioura. Already paid £500k as part of promotion clause in loan deal conforms what we all thought we knew I suppose...
http://www.vocidisport.it/2015/05/23/udinese-heurtaux-viaggia-verso-la-premier-e-per-lattacco/ This one appears to be happening too - Hertaux has agreed to transfer here.
we all hope so, but if he wants us to match a deal that Newcastle could put to him then im sure our owners will have plan "b" in place
Not sure Its anything to do with Newcastle at all. Thats just media talk, the media also says Newcastle want the wolly with the brolly but Ashridge likes not to spend big, he will not get McClaren on the cheap and he will not offer Slav a mega bucks deal either.
