I agree. On that note what would you consider to be a success next year and a reason to keep him?

Got to get Top 4. That's the minimum we should expect.

If we brought in a DoF, good coaching staff and Rodgers drops his ego and actually has faith in committee signings, then I wouldn't mind him staying for another year.

But I simply cannot see Rodgers working in that set up.

Can't see some of the pics so it wasn't easy. <laugh>

One more season for me as long as the targets we go for are off the right quality.

... and they deliver on that quality, there's some expensive big name flops around the league this season.

I wouldn't consider it Rodgers fault if we signed lets say Hummels, Vidal and Aguero and they didn't click straight away my point is if he goes for run of the mill players he deserves what he gets.

He went for quality last season but quality didn't want us. If we'd signed Sanchez, for example, that shows ambition and the right target - we were even prepared to pay decent money wages wise, in fact Arsenal reportedly gave him less than our offer - there have been other genuine targets of the right quality [not talking about all those in gossip columns]. We seem to have an almost impossible task in this respect. The players we need and want like Sanchez and Costa, reject us for a whole stack of reasons, so we need to uncover gems like Coutinho and shall we say, second echelon names as the Hummels and Vidals will laugh in our face.

Why did they reject us - because they rather work under better managers.

One of the reason maybe but which top players faced with Liverpool or Chelsea, Liverpool or Arsenal are going to choose us? We can moan about losing out on targets to Spurs or Southampton but not Chelsea and Arsenal.

Not entirely true, location and current club status came into it and possibly wages. We were right to go for Sanchez but when knocked back we didn't seem to have any others lined up. We should have a shed load of players that have been identified as right for the club and we may get some knock backs but we shouldn't let it deter us.

It's great when we find a Coutinho but we are not in a position to take a chance right now we need to go out there are get the likes of Vidal or Hummels and we have to pay the big money wage wise in order to get them.

It's not really mercenaries though, not every player is going to be a Liverpool fan but if we can get them in and they buy into the club ethos they can certainly build a loyalty to the club see Suarez, Alonso as examples.

I agree with MITO on Vidal, he's more of an example than a target.

the press actually writing it with a price is absolutely hilarious.

  18. When we made an approach for Sanchez we'd just unexpectedly finished second and Brod's reputation was sky high. Claiming Sanchez turned us down because we had a #average manager is very poor IMO
