Just popped up on the BBC website - Charlie is in the squad to play Ireland and Slovenia... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32823264 Lets hope he scores a couple of goals and adds a couple of million to his price tag!
Very happy for Austin has worked his socks off since coming the club, great player. When was the last time QPR had two players in the England squad?
Just looked it up - why have I spent the past 25 years believing that Bardsley played in the third place playoff game?
If I remember the USA tour under Taylor had 3 QPR players in the squad - Sinton, Bardsley, Ferdindand Well done Charlie & Greeno
I can recall many years ago going to see England v Wales and we had Thomas, Francis and either Clement or Gillard, making it three. It was a miserable draw and vowed never to go and see England again. However I was back a few years later to see Andy Sinton play against Brazil (came of at HT).
Yes congrats to Charlie, and Rob Green, deserves recognition for the heroics he has performed this season
... beats me too ... although perhaps the likes of Janmaat, Blind, Rojo, Alderweild, Fonte, Mertersaacker and co might just be able to shed some light .... little bugger had the temerity to run them completely ragged ... still, no doubt it will be different against top international defenders ....
Charlie Austin bet could win Poole Town fans thousands please log in to view this image A bet on QPR striker Charlie Austin to score for England could earns thousands for speculative Poole Town fans. A group of 16, including commercial chief Mark Bumford, placed a £155 bet at 50-1 in 2010 when Austin had started at Swindon, having left Poole. Now with the 25-year-old having received his first call-up, the group are closing in on a £7,905 payout. "The local bookies are aware they might have to cough up. They don't mind. It's good publicity," said Bumford. Southern Premier League club Poole were in the Wessex League Premier Division when Austin joined them in 2008 from Thatcham Town. The forward spent a season at the Dorset club where he had a remarkable scoring record. Bumford added: "He was always confident and sure of himself. A little cocky. "But with 46 goals in 46 games in his first season, then 18 goals in his last 11 matches for us, including five in his last game, he could afford to be." http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/32833035
